Goodness,

I see a lot of posters complaining how Best Buy and Samsung Experience Rep's are clueless; well, there are quite a few bad apples so I don't take it personally... but we ALL are not clueless.

Best Buy/ Samsung Experience Shops will be releasing November 16th. That date is set in stone. Best Buy does not even know that yet; I work for Samsung and found out roughly four hours ago that the day was set in stone. It has been passed on to me that "by location", Best Buy's may be receiving shipments prior to the 16th. YMMV.

Also for note, this launch as been met with complete silence behind the scenes since April. Not even the American higher ups had a clue when the day would be. Carrier dates are not reflective of Best Buy/Amazon/Samsung Experience Shops, despite their ill informed press release. They really botched this one bad. It will be available to ALL on November 16th.

I hope this helps some!

Thanks. Do you know if the watch is carrier specific or "open" to all carriers? In other words, will there be one of each carrier variant or one size fits all? What about pricing?

I'll dig for more information for you. That was all I was given sadly, which isn't a lot but at least it is a concrete date. I can tell you that there will be ones sold specifically outright, without carrier. It will be either $349.99 or $399.99, but I cannot lock down a price at this very moment. It all went live today so new details will roll in.

Carrier prices at Best Buy will reflect that of corporate stores, but outright should fall inbetween the $349.99 - $399.99 regardless. I will keep looking. Also launching that day are the Note Edge and Gear Circle.

The Gear S is $299 from AT&T, $349 from T-Mobile, and $384 from Sprint. I was planning on buying an AT&T one from Best Buy, but if it is $50 more, I guess I will just get it from AT&T tomorrow instead of waiting a week. I guess I could always Price Match AT&T, but honestly I think AT&T is making a price mistake, and will correct the off contract pricing to $349 soon. Considering $299 is the same price of the Gear 2, I think either the price of the Gear S is too low, or the Gear 2 is too high.

That being said, when you get the SKU's please update and include pricing if possible. We can always check store availability with the SKU.

Oh and thanks for posting to help us out. Much appreciated!

The MRSP is set to fall in line at $349.99 outright. I agree with the AT&T pricing in the fac tthat it is odd, but each carrier can charge whatever price they want, hence the difference amongst carriers. No different than phone prices being lower amongst carriers.

If you don't need the SIM feature, I'd highly reccomend just buying it from the lowest common variable in this situation, which would be ATT and just keep it bluetoothed if you're Sprint/Verizon.

We still have zero information on a Verizon release date... but I'd expect it to fall in line with the 16th. The only Verizon related news we have is $349.99 on contract, which is also published on the internet. That's a pretty rough price and I'm hoping they reconsider.

I'll gladly keep this thread updated as more information becomes available or if internally we start getting more information. The radio silence even on the Samsung side has been nothing short of infuriating. Most product releases we know what is going on at least a few weeks ahead of time, this one wasn't set in stone until today, 10 days before release.

And for those interested, it went live a few days ago: The Note Edge off contract is in the realm of $1100.00. Ridiculous.

I called VZW and spoke with a customer service rep who stated they rcv'd documentation of the release date being the 6th and that I could order starting at 6AM, tomorrow. Crosses fingers it was true!

For AT&T having the outright price of the N4 so high I'm glad the Gear S is only $299! I'm probably going to terminate my iPad line and pay ETF on it off they won't let me switch the gear to that line. I don't see why not it's just like buying a phone outright. I think that manager was trying to swindle me...

Keep in mind the Manager at AT&T is a Retail Salesperson. Call AT&T Customer Care about 9:00 pm. I find the night crew is much better to work with then the day timers. Talk to retentions. When the autovoice asks you what you want to do, just say "Cancel a Line". They will take care of transferring the iPad line to the Gear S.

I'm not worried about it. I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him and he was a big man lol. I will be calling tomorrow to see if in fact they are holding one for me. If not, to AT&T.com I go!

Looky look what I see too early in the morning! Price jacked up like I suspected but it may not last.

Ah, thanks! BB should be able to match price guarantee what AT&T currently offers. Also, it seems to answer my question all along, that BB will carry the watch carrier specific, not "one size fits all". I suspect they will also have the watch specifically for Verizon and Sprint.

Assuming AT&T doesn't rethink their pricing which I believe $299 off contract is too low.

Just an FYI. I placed an order with Best Buy yesterday and I got a tracking number today.
