My update was waiting for me when I woke up at 6am. I like the new screen unlock. I als fixed a problem I was having with a hotmail account I added. I would not update new messages but now it does. So far so good. I just got my Droid on Wed. gave up my Storm 1. I thought I loved my Storm But that was just puppy love I really love My Droid hope my wife doesnt find out

I have seen a VAST improvement in battery life. Before the update, I was going to bed with about 30 or 40% battery life left. After updating, and with no difference in my usage of the phone, I'm going to bed with about 60 or 70% battery life. The one thing I noticed is the screen is sucking up a lot less of the battery than it did before.
I did my update this morning so I finally feel like I can participate! Browser speed is MUCH faster, especially noticable with streaming videos. I like the old unlock better... it was more unique and didn't seem like a knock-off of "Slide to Unlock" that the 'other' phone has.
After the update, ALL of my DXTOP settings were gone, so I had to re-setup my desktops with apps/widgets the way I had them before. As of now nothing has disappeared after doing that.
I likes the CLOCK on the lock screen a lot better before. The old one had a much less "tech" look to it and was far more classy, in my opinion.

I'm impressed with the new lock and clock. Browser is slightly slower.. improved my battery minimally
I will give the battery a good run today, came off the charger this morning so we will see where I am at tonight when I leave work. Right away I noticed my home screens where faster and smoother. Also the bottom dock button seemed faster and smoother. Apart from that everything seems the same.

Cant get it to go for anything no matter what I try. I have to (OK I am sure I'll get the I'ts not a blackberry here!!) remove the battery, then power it up and all seems fine? At least for an hour or so...
Last time was after checking voice mail using speaker phone sitting on the desk. The screen blanked, but the phone could not be woken up...
anyone else?
Any ideas?
(No flames on the battery thing please, It is the only way to get it back up and running..)

Are there any official release notes for the update? I was hoping it would bring me to a web page with notes after it performed the update.
I had a similar problem this morning. I was using the listen app, listening to a podcast on my way into work when it stopped working. Hit the power button, couldn't get the screen to come back on. I did receive an incoming call, which I was able to answer using my car's bluetooth, but the screen never did come back on. Go ahead and flame me too, I pulled the battery because I couldn't get the thing to reboot.
i was having that problem with it not waking up BEFORE the update. havent had it happen since, i did the manual update. would maybe consider doing a hard reset.
It's just a habbit you need to get out of, that's all. I've been tempted once or twice to pull the battery instead of powering down the device.
Thats a little more info I forgot to include. When it was blank I tried to call it and just went to my voice mail, like it was actually off or something, but would not power up..
really just sounds like instability caused by who knows what... too many apps running, some conflicts between apps. if it is never ending, even when using the stock home screen then I would seek technical assistance. Otherwise if it only happens with dxtop, just gonna have to wait for more updates.

I woke up this morning and did the update on my phone and now when i look under my contacts it shows i only have one contact but when i look in my favorites it shows that i have my favorite in there with their names and i go back to look in my contacts but it doesnt show anything but the 1 contact thats in there. I could use some help here....thanks in advance

missing contacts
yeah that happened to me after manually updating...my contacts were missing on phone. I had to reload the contacts off of the SD card. Just go into contacts > hit the menu button> hit import/export button on bottom of screen. Good to go.

There was no other choice, it wouldn't power down. What else do you do?
Anyone experiencing this "minor" problem with weatherbug (free version). When you go into the weatherbug notification sound (menu>preferences>notification sound) you cant hear the sound, you can only select the sound. My weatherbug notification sound notifies me with the sound i select...just cant here the sound or sounds when selecting one. Anyone else experience this???
