On the GS6. What's more of a deal breaker for you, no removable battery or no SD card?

Good news. VZW is offering all three flavors so that gives me hope that AT&T will follow suit.

T-Mobile is also offering all three sizes...AT&T however, is deeply stupid, and might not bother.

Re: Let's Take A Clear And Objective Look At This

Sorry OP, but you seem to have missed the point completely about the non removable battery. The problem isn't whether the battery will last a day or not. The problem is the battery, at some stage WILL die. At which point the phone has no resale value whatsoever, whereas before you could sell it on and put the money towards your new phone. It doesn't matter how efficient the processor is. This is going to happen. As said before in multiple threads, Samsung didn't have to sacrifice premium build with the Note 4 to keep the removable back, so there's no reason they couldn't have done the same with the S6.

I'm not sure why or how I missed the point, I wasn't trying to make one.
All I did was asked a question.

Ironic

It's oddly humorous how many are complaining about the complainers.
People are disappointed about the absence of expandable storage and removable battery. But the complainers complaining about those complaining over this is ironic.
I've seen posts where these ones have told posters to get a life to stfu.
Wow! Has Samsung actually reached the status that they now have a crowd as zealous as an apple fanboy? hmm.

a few people did tell me that Samsung has a cult following now. And "common people know galaxy".

Who knows, maybe it's true.

@T-Mobile GN3

4k video recording is limited on lower models
32gb is more like 28gb this will get chewed up
On the S5 32gb I use a 128gb sd and that realy gets a killing doing uhd recording
even samsungs A range had a sd card slot.
But a flat battery also is a issue and is one reason the A range has not taken off in the UK
We don't want a iPhone it may be made out of metal but it's pointless if it's useless

It is very interesting to see the amount of people genuinely upset in the forums over the loss of removables. When the S5 came out people complained about the band-aid like plastic backing and Samsung's lack of premium build quality. Now that we have that more-premium build quality a lot of folks are unhappy about the choices Sammy made to provide that. Sammy decided that it didn't make fiscal sense for them to take the steps to try to please everyone. I can live with that.

Not to ruin the "irony" in your statement, but people who complained about plastic back then are mostly not the people who complained loss of removable now.

Did Sammi have to choose? well, maybe, maybe not. Samsung release a boatload stuff all the time, adding a couple more variate to get everybody happy isn't that difficult.

So people were complaining about plastic and cheap build, so Samsung heard their customers, and so they built the gorgeous S6.

But people complained and Samsung listened. I suppose there were those then that told these complainers to quit complaining.

This is why there are many devices to choose from. If someone doesn't like the fact the S6 doesn't offer a removable battery and a sd card, then move on. Nothing can be done about it with the S6 so get a device that suits your needs or simply keep the one you currently have.

Let this thread RIP and start another one with the positive comments in this thread keeping it alive. Moving to a new thread will promote more useful discussion amongst those of us who have come to embrace the reality that the expandable storage and swappable battery are NOT going to be included in the GS6. Just a thought. Sparring with these conspiracy theorists only gives life to beliefs which are fine but belong on a GS7 thread. There's an idea for those folks. Start a GS7 in the Upcoming Devices sub-forum where the GS6 started. Time is better spent looking forward is my point as I keep an open mind on new devices and base my purchase decision on research and facts based upon production unit reviews and hands-on videos as well as my own research. There is no substitute for personal research and testing. Don't just rely on others as the sole source of information.

Of course, of course. The point being that not everyone is going to be happy. Note that I said that Sammy didn't feel it made fiscal sense to take the steps to try to please everyone. Maybe they felt that having 3 S6 lines instead if 2 might somehow be confusing.

Also, I think JCP007's suggestion of letting this thread RIP might have some merit so please don't take my future silence here wrong.

People 'desperately' need to access 128gb of sd storage plus phone storage of 16 - 32gb 'all the time',

or what could have been 128gb phone storage and a 200gb sd card on an sd enabled S6.

I don't buy it.

Keep a flash or hard drive for everything. Trim it down.

How much data do documents for work use. How long does it take to play umpteen HD videos on a 5" screen or cast to a large tv where you can find one.

If at home use a tv / player and recorder or stream. How many times do you want to watch the same movie. A few favorites OK. Keep them at home and take one.

How long do you spend every day listening to 30 billion songs.

How much paperwork, and discs does this represent.
Using an sd card as a back up, when thumb drives are so cheap, storable and secure, doesn't make sense.

Plan ahead.

People want to jump forward 2 or 3 evolutionary steps.

Shoot me down all you want.

I don't buy any argument.

I find it ridiculous. Why do all phones try to be like apple instead of differentiating your product from them. Glass front back, not water resistant, and non removable storage/battery. Of I wanted a phone like an iPhone, thats what i would buy.

I was content to let this thread die but there is already a thread on this topic. Unless you have been in a cave, the paradigm is changing. Apple added NFC after Samsung as an example. Let's see how many features of Galaxy or even Note line end up on the next iPhones over next two years.

You're kidding, right? The Iphone 6 is just now doing what the S3 did 3 years ago.

You're familiar with Apples logo:

If we can't innovate, we'll litigate.

The anti hoarding comments don't take into account that, sometimes it's not that you have so much data but, whatever data you do have is going to disappear on a factory reset. That's why the SD card is important. It's possible you've found rare documentaries on YouTube and saved them, or any other data scenario - and you're without a working computer except for your phone. When ota updates require you to have to format your phone, you lose everything. It's like saying you don't need an external hard disk.

All you need is a flash drive. Connect it to your device and you're set.
