On the GS6. What's more of a deal breaker for you, no removable battery or no SD card?

S6 is the reason I'm ditching Samsung, after owning Fascinate/S2/Droid Charge/S3/Note 2/Note 3/S5...

I think I'm a very loyal Samsung customer. I've owned the following 9 Samsung phones.(all Verzion)

Samsung Fascinate
Samsung Droid Charge
Samsung Galaxy S3
Samsung Galaxy Note II (two of them)
Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Samsung Galaxy S4
Samsung Galaxy S5 (two of them)

With the news of the S6 having no SD card slot and no removable battery, I have no choice but to look for a new phone from other manufacturers. The S6 is now as unappealing to me as the iPhone 6. Chances are pretty good that Samsung will also ditch the SD card and removable battery for the Note 5, so no sense in waiting.

This is truly the saddest day for someone who loved Samsung phones for the last several years.

The GS6 is anything but lackluster. IMO it will outsell the M9 and G4 combined..

Well I saw the m9 and couldn't tell which one was the new one and it's only a small upgrade so not hard to do.

The g4 nope if LG is making their homework.

In terms of real functionality it sadly is lackluster, specs are top notch but that's always a given with a S or Note line phone the functionality isn't there thanks to no sd and removable battery.

You need more than 128 gigs?

have 128gb cards in all of my current smartphones.

already planning to pre-order Sandisk's 200gb MicroSDXC card...

Battery life is likely going to be a lot better than the S5. You can now upgrade to 128GB internal (which is not only significantly faster than any SD card, but also less prone to corruption). I'm not seeing how either is a dealbreaker

No I don't, but what price is that going to be. Is that going to be the $299 one, then I'm on board.

Re: Does anything worry you about the Galaxy S6?

You don't have a computer available that you can copy content to and from?

from the Note 3 📱
If I have to be tied to a computer or the cloud all the time, I'm losing some of the benefits of not having a iPhone. With a sd card I can have my pictures and music with me all the time without having to hook to the computer to get it or use valuable data to download from the cloud.

Previously: battery is about to go empty => swap it and boom full again

Now: look for the nearest charger..

Oh yeah that super fast internal storage..sure great for benchmarks but of no practical usage.

Even 128 will be full at some point then what? All that while Sandisk just announced a 200 gb sd card bad timing Samsung

Exactly. A battery swap will take you from 5% to 100% in about a minute. IMO, much better than a 'quick-charge'.

Also, fast memory is good for apps, etc... But fast storage is arguably beneficial. My old S3 has never hiccuped during a song or video. SD card camp here...

Re: Does anything worry you about the Galaxy S6?

1 - LAG, LAG, LAG It better be gone or I may have to rethink my anticipated S6 purchase.

2 - Camera. I'm pretty sure Samsung hit this one out of the park with the new software and f1.9 lens, but I'd like to see this confirmed.

3- Speakers and earpiece quality. Lots of room for improvement here over the S5, which has awful sound quality profiles.

4 - Battery life. High hopes here with the new processor and toned down software.

A lot of phones are moving away from removable batteries it seems. I wouldn't be surprised if by 2016-2017, most flagship phones will not have removable batteries, that sacrifice being for Qi charging, and other features

No removable battery is the deal-killer for me. I say this because I had an iphone 5 with severe battery defects before I realized that I was among the batch of iphones to get a defective battery and it was recalled and I was entitled to a new battery. But that was 2 years into having the phone.

I think that there gonna be OK without you. there's probably a thousand people to replace each one that leaves because this is the best model that they have ever made.

Just buy an external micro usb flash drive for the next phone or a wire adapter to hook up to a regular flash drive.

Re: Does anything worry you about the Galaxy S6?

My last 4 phones : iPhone 3g, Samsung fascinate, note 2 and now note3... While I love the idea and would prefer a removable battery.... I can say that especially I've never need to do a battery pull or swap them out. I'm assuming that at least for me.. That a sealed battery is no bug deal. Just my. 02

While I agree that for the company itself this is the best phone they've made, I don't agree that it's necessarily best for the consumer. Personally, I'm not too big a fan of the front and back glass. It's a terrible print magnet. While that can be remedied with a case, it defeats the purpose of the design. It's essentially the same phone, but of different materials. Yes, TouchWiz is scaled back, but it's still cluttered. The horrible icons are still there, as is the horrible teal blue and green scheme. As a S3 owner, they talk about innovation, but what have they really done in that regard? All they have done is shine and gloss up their original concept, making it fragile to handle, while simultaneously taking away their two biggest selling points. Lame job, imho.

It will be practical in the real world now that Lollipop has FDE. The Nexus 6 has appalling read/write speeds, and it makes for noticeable lag/stutter.

I have a phone with a removable battery which I swap out 1-2 times a day. But that's because the battery is terrible. If it was anywhere near that of the Note 4, which the S6 should have, it wouldn't be an issue. I'd consider myself a really heavy user, so even if it's not enough, I can get myself a portable charger. There are some that take up less space than an external battery pack does

Yes, the screen looks great, but it's QHD AMOLED with a small battery. 577 ppi being pushed on a 2, 550 mAh battery? Call me skeptical. Yes, the camera shutter is fast. With the lack of SD card storage, you'll have to save pics to the cloud. So... S6 alternatives with SD card support?

Ok, my wife has an S4 and I was planning on upgrading her to the S6 but the lack of SD card support is a complete deal breaker. She currently has a 128GB card in her S4 and fills it regularly. I'm guessing Verizon won't even offer the 128GB model, and I wouldn't even want to pay what I'm sure would be the outrageous markup if it was.

So, seriously. What are the best alternatives in the same size phone? I have the Note 4 but she doesn't want a phone that big. So what phones on the market, or coming soon, would be the best alternatives to the S6 with SD card support and in similar size?

Re: So now that the Stylemiesters and have a premium metal bodyLOL. Can we please have a Galaxy S6 P

The Samsung Active angle would be a good one.
