OTA for Marshmallow 6.0 starts today!!

LMY48T. OTA on our wifi Nexus 7, it took four installs, was it working up to it? But finally os updates stopped showing up. USA North Carolina.

That's the security update. Unfortunately, the OTA link posted only works for LMY48M for the 6.0 upgrade on the Nexus 7. So we still have to wait.

Is your build number LMY48T with the security update?

Posted via Android Central App

Yes. It's now LMY48T. Unfortunately, as I've now found out, there is no OTA link to download for this build, only for the previous LMY48M build. So, now, instead of just using the download link, those of us who have the LMY48T will have to wait longer for the 6.0 download to be pushed to us. Seems backwards to me. Why would they push an update that prevents you from receiving the OTA link? Couldn't they have pushed the security update later? Oh, well. Too late.

Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA links are starting to arrive — here they are! | Android Central

The article above shows OTA links. After the list of OTA links is this:

"Of course if you're impatient you can always go with the factory image route, which gives you the option of either starting fresh or upgrading in place. Either way, you'll want to check out our comprehensive guide on flashing and updating your Nexus device."

Hub, the only problem is the security update changed the build to LMY48T from 48M. So the 48M link won't download.

I looked at what I thought was android factory image for marshmallow, the link was here in AC and the number matched so I figured I had MM?!

If you didn't download the security update, and still are on build LMY48M, you can use the link shown in AC to download MM. But, like me and most others, if you downloaded the security update (LMY48T) the link won't download.

Will I get the OTA 6.0 update if I am still on Kit Kat? Right now I checked system update and it wants to download 5.0.2. Lollipop ruined my Nexus 7 2012 and I don't want to do that to my 7 2013.

I updated from 4.4.4 to 6 using wugfresh - the only problem I ran into was the known issue with misreported storage size (it shows 16G even though the tablet has 32G), which is easily fixed with a factory reset (mind that wipes out your data, so make sure you have a backup first). I love M so far, a huge improvement when coming from KitKat as one might expect. My razorg/deb is buttersmooth on Marshmallow.

So let me put it this way, the over the air update that comes to our device through WiFi still hasn't started rolling out yet. I have never sideloaded an update yet, and I don't want to either, I'll wait for the update to come to my device through the internet. Just wish they'd start pushing it out since usually the OTA starts rolling out shortly after the images get posted. I don't know if the longer lead time we saw with Lollipop OTAs is going to be the norm going forward, or if they're just waiting until new Nexus devices start shipping so they are the first Nexus devices with MM. I'm hoping it's the latter rather than the former.

My Nexus 5 already received the Marshmallow ota. Looking forward to it on the N7. Probably the last major update for both....

Was hoping to be a proud owner of a used N7 '13, but the Craigslist seller ended up jerking me around... Oh well, "enjoying" Lollipop on my '12 N7...

Finally got the security update Saturday. Still waiting on 6.0. Anyone have any idea of a timeframe?

We are all still waiting on 6.0, it's honestly disappointing since ONE person still hasn't received a OTA update.

Soon[SUP]TM[/SUP]. :p

If the updates have indeed started, then from past history most will see it come through in the coming weeks. Google starts off *very* slowly to watch for problems. Once everything seems to be going smoothly with a small test batch of devices, the floodgates will open. You'll know it because everyone will start posting about it. :)

I'm on a device with a broken USB port and I use it as a qi charging device only. So I have no choice but to wait on the ota unfortunately. Couldn't side load if I wanted. Wish it would roll out soon. Battery life on my nexus 6 rules.

I understand that it can take up to 2-3 weeks for it to roll out to everyone. But the fact that it was said to be rolling out 14 days ago and NOT ONE person on ANY of the forums has seen an OTA yet? There's something wrong there. Either Droid Life was horribly wrong or there's a serious issue with the MM build for the Nexus 7 and the planned OTA was pulled.

What I hate is that they pushed out the security update LMY48T which won't allow you to use the MM link shown on AC (LMY48M). So far, there's no link for build LMY48T. So, effectively, Google pushed out an update that bars us from updating to MM. How backasswards is that???

"or there's a serious issue with the MM build for the Nexus 7 and the planned OTA was pulled."

If there is, I've yet to encounter it after sideloading it and using it continuously since the image first came out. It's a worthy update. I think all this delay in the OTA update is just typical Google and whatever is going on behind the scenes to make it happen. Only problem I've came cross was with a WiFi login delay issue which was solved with a forum suggestion fix. Other than that, Marshmallow has been running as smooth as glass.

Could you describe your WiFi issue and your resolution?

Basically this is what I posted to one of the other threads. It wasn't a major issue because it was mainly focused on using a toggle menu to connect to my wi-fi, but since I hadn't experienced this wi-fi connection issue under Lollipop, the time connection delay under Marshmallow was annoying me enough that I went looking for others with the same problem and found a temporary fix. Here's a condensed version of what I posted in the other thread and for the record I'm not seeing any noticeable battery drainage with this temporary fix.

"My only current problem with Marshmallow has been with the authenticating time connecting to my WiFi network. Before, it too me 5 seconds. Now whether on the 2.4ghz or 5ghz band connecting to my wireless router, I'm counting 23 seconds to connect. Deleted both networks and started fresh, but same time delay.

Yeah, it's kind of strange. Having a toggle menu, any toggle menu, and pressing wi-fi off and on from there is where I'm getting this time delay. If my wi-fi is off and I access it by going into settings, flip the WiFi switch to on, it'll connect to my WiFi in 5 seconds. Verified the same time delay with other WiFi networks if I use a toggle menu. Go figure! I'll play about with it and see if I can figure out why it's only happening with toggle off and on button widgets that I have on my main page screen.

Edit : known issue not just happening on the Nexus 7 forum. Nexus 5 owners are also experiencing this issue after upgrading to 6.0. A temporary fix by going into settings, location, access the top right menu, scanning, flip the switch to turn on WiFi scanning fixes the problem. Now how this affects a hit on battery life, I'm not sure, but when location isn't turned on, then I can't see it draining all that much power. The bug has been well documented by other users, so I'm sure Google is now aware of the issue with hopefully a fix in the works. "

I'm starting to think their is a problem with the n7 2013 running marshmallow and that it was pulled... Because this is ridiculous, that I or anyone else have yet to receive an OTA. I just don't like how they give us no news or updates with what's going on...

I was always told by Nexus enthusiasts that you get a Nexus to get fast updates... Well my Nexus 7 is my first Nexus device and so far I'm fairly unimpressed.
