OTA for Marshmallow 6.0 starts today!!

After my first post thinking it's just Google being Google when it comes to updates, now I'm seriously wondering why this OTA update is taking so long. Is it as others say that the Nexus 7 is so far down the priority list for OTA updates that they've yet to get to it. Are any other Nexus devices receiving the update to Marshmallow like clockwork? The point is if they've pulled it, it can't be for any reason due to the upgrade process and that Marshmallow had so many bugs running on the Nexus 7 that Google decided to recall it. The original google image link installed through wugfresh went off without a blip saving all my apps and info and I can't emphasize how well Marshmallow is running on the Nexus 7. I haven't had anything noteworthy negative to say about 6.0 and there's been a nice boost in battery life on standby. Apps also seem more responsive, so if there's anything crippling with Marshmallow causing Google to pull it, I've yet to think of a reason why as I've used it enough now since the image link first came out that I've left no stone unturned. GPS locks on pretty quickly and works just fine. Bluetooth devices connect and run without any issues. Meenova's mini micro-sd card OTG reader works well with the Nexus Media importer app. I could go on. Bottom line, as someone that's installed Marshmallow without any issues and has ran the O.S since day one, I can safely say that there's nothing with the process of upgrading to 6.0 or with how Marshmallow is running on the Nexus 7 that should be delaying this OTA upgrade.

As usual, Google hasn't deemed it proper to advise us of the reason for the delay for the OTA. There was a small fix just released for 5.1.1, but nothing to explain. It seems to have been for build LMY48M. But there was already a security update a couple of weeks ago that changed the build to LMY48T. But still no OTA being pushed. It's just sad that Google's transparency is just as bad as the OEMs. At this point...expecially after the decision to discontinue the N7...I just don't give a damn any more. As nice as 6.0 seems to be, I'll be just fine if it never gets the OTA. I haven't had any problems with 5.1.1, so I'm not unhappy with it. From your assessment of 6.0, I'm sure I'd love it. But this delay has turned me (and I'm sure many other) off. Once again, we're at the mercy of the very few who call the shots in the world.

Looks like the OTA will be coming soon:

"MRA58U is an update that fixes the video playback issue with the MRA58K build on the 2013 Nexus 7. Video would hang after a few seconds, with audio continuing to play on almost any app except Google apps. Netflix and Vudu were affected, among others.

Google appeared to stop the roll out of the 6.0 OTA to Nexus 7s after the issue was discovered/reported. I sideloaded the Marshmallow OTA on my N7 only to break the video playback. A friend's 2013 N7 has yet to get the Marshmallow OTA."

I figured it had to be something like this holding it up. I'm happy sticking with Lollipop until they get rid of this bug!

Excellent, looking forward to it. Nexus 5 flies on Marshmallow. Hoping for the same here...

Bought a Nexus for quick updates... That worked well. No OTA dor 6.0.... what five weeks out from release date?

On the bright side, the factory images for both Wifi and LTE versions of the N7 2013 were posted on the day of Marshmallow's release, something that cannot be said about half a dozen updates to KitKat and Lollipop. The LTE version, in particular (which I have), often didn't have factory images until *months* later. In this case, you don't have to wait for the OTA. Coming from 4.4.4, I flashed 6.0 onto my razorg using the Nexus Root Toolkit, and suddenly, my N7 is genuinely a pleasure to use once again. It's snappy and smooth and after having used it for several weeks now, I have yet to run into a serious bug, or any bug, really. You might want to give it a try, it's not difficult even if you don't consider yourself a techie.

It's odd, we're going on the 4th week now since they announced the rollout beginning and I haven't heard of anyone who actually got their MM update over the air. We've got two Nexus 7 2nd gen WiFi tablets in our house and the longest I've gone without seeing an update after rollout was announced was 1-2 weeks. And even then, I had heard of people on the forums getting the update. It's just odd that there is no information on the update, either independent verification that it is rolling out or that it's been suspended.

And no, I don't want to sideloaded the update either.

I feel the exact same way but someone mentioned on here that there was a video playback issue and that's the reason why they pulled the marshmallow update. I have been waiting over 4 weeks as well and still have not received anything so it sucks that they are not telling us anything that's official...
