Otterbox Commuter soon to be released

Looks like they are finishing up the commuter series for the D3. They did say on the page though that it will be the only series they will be offering for the D3. The defender would inhibit the slider ability of the phone so they have no plans to design any of the other models. I plan on getting one for my wifes D3 when it releases.

Otterbox seems to make the only attractive cases for Droid sliders. I loved the one for my OG Droid

I ordered a cheapo one off ebay just to hold me over until this is realsed. The I hope there a little quicker with this phone the Droid x case took forever to be released it was ridiculous. Great quality cases tho. The doesn't appear to add much bulk which is a plus.

Obtained the case today but unfortunately the case wont work with the extended battery ( yes I knew it wont). The buttons don't align well with the ext. Battery, so I have to decide if the lose of battery life is worth the nice protection that the case offers (spend too much time with Star Legends).

How hard is it to take the Otterbox case off when you want to? I have a dock I use sometimes, and pulling the Verizon case off is a real pain in the neck. (The phone is supposed to fit into the dock with the Verizon case on, and it basically does, but aligning the usb/hdmi ports with the dock is tricky and I always think I'm going to break something.) It would be nice to just slide the case off when I want.

Oh there isn't any issue with taking the case off when I want to, the only issue is if you want to use the case with the extended battery on, it's not going to fit properly so it's best to focus using the case if you either are close to a source to charge, or have an extended battery with you. Would've been nice to have a good fit with the ext. battery. I've decided to just use the case with the standard battery and carry around an extended battery. It's a great fit and I feel much more secure carrying the phone around.

Ordered mine a couple days ago now, I haven't seen the email yet with expected delivery or anything like that. I did get the confirmation email of the order though. How long has it been taking for you guys to get to you? has anyone who has gotten the case been able to fit the phone into the motorola car dock or the desktop dock? I have both docks and would hate to have to take the case off every night.

I have both and it wont fit on either, mainly because the silicone covers that fit in the usb and hdmi ports. I'm not sure what I want to do because I love both of the docks but it'll be a pain to take the case off everytime I use them.

I take it that if you have the otterbox case on you can't use the multimedia dock without taking the case off?
