Over the Air Update on Rooted Note 2 SGH-i317 if I Deleted Bloatware?

I know this is an older thread, but I recently rooted my Galaxy Note 2 successfully (AT&T) SGH-1317 and now want to sell it, so I attempted a return to stock using instructions that I confirmed with three sources using ODIN Mobile pro that I purchased from the play store. Unfortunately when I attempted the unroot I got through unzipping and loading the stock ROM but when I reached the blue ODIN logo, it went no further. I was plugged into my laptop during this process so not sure if this had an effect. Now I can do one of two things. battery out then volume down+home+power - which gets me to the ODIN Mode screen and says DownLoading, do not turn off Target!! but then it goes no further. or battery out then volume up+home+power which gets me through the samsung logo screen but then gives me the blue ODIN logo only and it goes no further. I am assuming I want to get the download screen, but with all the same isntructions, I cannot access that screen. I do not necessarily have the expertise to be doing this, but needed to get myself back to a wiped phone asap, and researched a ton, but admit my noob status and shortcomings. I need to get this phone back to wiped factory status and hopefully I can do that with the symptoms it is showing. Any help would be amazing, and quite frankly, this thread seems to have the most calm and collected info I have found yet. Please please please help - thanks

For all you unhelpful people that just want to say search for it I did and I found this unhelpful thread at the top of my search. Good thing I know where to look so I will list some actual answers here for everyone that lands here.

I have flashed many many roms, even super stock like roms that where pre rooted and all of them had unacceptable flaws... Back to stock works great for me especially now with the new update. I start stock then root and uninstalling the bloatware with titanium backup. Then add the things I like. It takes a long time I wish I found a stable rom instead.
