Phone doesn't have me swipe from the home screen anymore???

Hi. I'm not a very tech-savy guy, so this may be worded weird. I have a Samsung S8+. Whenever I press the power button on and off, no matter what, my phone just resumes what I was doing on the same thing. Same app.

I used to have it set where I would have to swipe it from the lock screen whenever I did this, even though I had a PIN set. I got to see my lock screen. I didn't have to enter my PIN, I could just swipe.

I turned off edge lighting, and now my phone screen just turns on in the middle of an app I closed it on. I don't like having to auto lock it and having to enter my password every two minutes.

How do I have it just go back to the way it was? Sorry.

It could be a couple of things. Check your lock screen timeout settings. Configure the power button.
We're you using trusted places before, so when you are at your home wifi it allows just a swipe?

I don't know about the S8, but Samsung has had "lock on power button" in settings before. If that's disabled (if the S8 has it), it won't lock with a press of the power button.
