pixel 8 AOD problems

I'm having a issue where sometimes the always on display doesnt work . it will just randomly not show up .
anybody else having this issue ?

no i dont use battery saver , it is very random .
i had another P8 that got destroyed , it worked fine , this one has this issue .

Are you using a double tap to sleep gestures? The reason I say this is because I have the same issue where sometimes the phone does not work AOD.. I'm doing some early testing right now but it seems once I took the double tap to sleep it hasn't occurred yet but it's way too early to tell

I don't see a double tap to sleep option but I do see double tap to wake. I turned it off. We'll see

Good luck so far I've not recreated the non working screen since I turned off

It didn't work for me . So I guess maybe the next update will fix it

Ah crap .. did you turn off accessibility for Nova in settings too ?

It was in fact off , so let's see how it goes now.

Doesn't seem to matter.

It seems to happen when the screen times out on its own. If a press the power button to turn it off the AOD works fine.

That was the same thing I was experiencing but has not happened for me since I disabled the double tap ...did the reboot of phone has not showed itself again I'm sure I will jinx myself lol

well i got around to doing a master reset today to see if it would solve the problem , it did !

i dont know what the deal was but its fixed now.

Sometimes factory reset clears up clutter so might be a little better in battery
