Pixel owners how you feel new iPhone

Even my iPhone loving wife with her precious iPhone 8 isn't feeling these new ones. When I showed them to her she said "guess I'm keeping my 8 for awhile."

If it wasn't for IOS would be all in just can't go there again enjoy the freedoms of Android to much

I actually wish Microsoft could've gotten themselves straighten out. We need a strong 3rd player for consumers.

For me it's BlackBerry 10 but the basic sentiment is the same. However, now that Android is more secure I am happy with it. Knowing that there will be regular and timely security updates is important to me.

Wow! Must be nice to have a thousand dollars to throw at a phone. That's nearly a month's wages for my hubby!! Still if you can afford it then it's a good option if you don't mind the notch.

Here in Canada it looks like the iPhone XS Max 512 GB is $1999.

Definitely pay it off , and trust me your not losing out because that phone is already great in another year something will be out and then you can decide , but the pixel 2xl is a solid phone for 2 or 3 years more
I love my phone even nearly a year on. Best phone i ever owned

I'd rather purchase last year's Pixel 2 XL than this year's iPhone XS Max.
And tbh comparing it feature to feature me and the hubby kept saying "Our Pixel 2s can do that already" when we were watching the presentation. It felt like we were already ahead of Apple with our current phones.

It is just mindboggling. I spent a grand in 2011 for a MacBook Pro and thought that was expensive. It was still working in August when I traded it in against a Pixelbook. That too would have been £1000. But I hope it lasts as long as that MBP lasted (7 years). In the end I paid £549 for it and by selling my surface 3 for £200 I only paid £349 for it in real terms. 2 GRAND on a PHONE that has a restricted, closed OS that cannot do as much as a laptop even, just bonkers to me. It is more expensive than a current MB Pro. I can't justify those kind of prices for a PHONE!!

I love technology and if we can find a way to afford it, I try to buy quality in the hope it lasts longer. But I am on disability benefits and my husband works for just £8.68 an hour. So we are truly not rich. And some of the prices of phones today just makes me feel physically sick. I got my P2XL on contract. I pay £56 a month for 2 years including my minutes, texts and data. We got my husband's on a credit card when his Note 4 finally died after 3 years of heavy use. But his cellular plan is heavily discounted sim-only £19 for unlimited calls, texts and data on 3. So it was better to use the CC.

Some people buy every new phone out there, and I am baffled how they manage to do so. But I guess most of these people earn a lot more than £8.68 an hour.

I am not jealous, just a different perspective on these things and their intrinsic values I guess.

I like a couple things. One thing I would love to have is optical zoom. I normally don't need it, but sometimes it comes in handy. The A12 chip looks very good, hopefully Google will come out with their own chip in the future that can rival with Apple.

A side note, I think my wife will finally switch over to Android now that all the new iPhones don't have a front button anymore. She refuse to get a new iPhone without a front button. She is ok with the software button Android has, and when her iPhone 7 dies, she might finally make that switch.

A prime motivational factor for my wife to go with a Google phone was the savings of being able to go with Google Fi.

Not feeling iPhone at all. I have a 7 which I got free from my carrier Verizon. Way to tightly controlled by Apple. After all these years they still won't let icons be placed where I want to place them. Such a simple thing. SMH. Android is freedom and I like having input on how to use my device that I paid for.
Trying Google Fi myself and am pretty pleased so far. First bill is $22. Subsequent bills should all stay below $30. I could get used to that. I like only having to pay for data I use. If this service was only available on an iPhone I'd likely switch for that reason alone. But as luck would have it it is available on my fave device, Pixel 2. Everyone I know who uses an iPhone likes it simple. Probably why they are so popular with the general public, but pricing them so high for basically the same locked down UI year after year just boggles my mind. Glad we have choices.

Yeah we are on tmobile military plan, so only 20 a line for 8 lines. We will never switch. Haha. I'll probably use project fi when I travel since the data will stay as LTE.
