Play Store and Facebook not Working

Hey guys,
I recently updated my bone stock G2 to 5.1 and I have been facing a lot of problems. None as annoying as the fact that my Play Store suddenly stopped working. Whenever I touch the Google Play Icon, all I see is a white screen. I cleared data and cache - no fix. I uninstalled updates, still not working.
Also, My Facebook app stopped updating. I can see the old posts, but when I pull down to refresh - it doesn't refresh. Maybe these two problems are connected?
Any help would be appreciated.

Was this an official update, or did you root and manually install?

Official. I tried safe mode, but it still didn't work. One more thing - when I try to access the Inbox app, it says 'Internet connection needed for initial setup' or something along the lines of that. However I already am connected to Wifi...

Hmm. I turned on Wifi hotspot from my other phone and connected to the hotspot from my G2. I can connect to the hotspot, but I get no internet at all(there is a weird exclamation mark which appears and disappears next to my Wifi icon on the status bar). I tried connecting to my dad's WiFi hotspot but that didn't work either. So far only my home WiFi network works - with the exception of Play Store and Facebook.
