Pre-ordering with Best Buy

sorry to hear you are still having problems. so many are.

I did not get it through BB and I am so glad. it's going to be delivered tomorrow, for better or for worse. I went with Samsung because I just couldn't bear the thought of dealing with BB for another cell phone. one time's my limit dealing with their bs. if it's not a pre-order and it's just in stock and can be shipped or picked up, they're fine. they just don't do pre-orders well.
 
I nearly decided to return my Aura Glow and get the Aura Blue now that it's available for AT&T (came up after my preorder couldn't be adjusted/canceled), because I was "meh" about the color I got but loving the gorgeous blue s pen.

I talked myself down, because when I go through the process and get one in my cart for AT&T (using 'add a line' since it will show I'm no longer eligible for an upgrade) the date is 9/5. Great! But wait... when you select store pickup, suddenly it has a date in October! Yikes. I'll believe that more so, particularly given the BestBuy false claims recently.

So, for anyone not preordering per say but looking to buy from BestBuy now - I'd check both shipping methods first to see what kind of date they give.
 
I pre-ordered my N10+ from BB and it was a pretty smooth experience. Went into BB to buy something else and while there decided to preoder and setup the trade-in of my Note 9. Got $650 credit for it toward the 10+, leaving that phone costing just $450. Here's where it gets interesting...

I came in for my appointment to trade in my old device and set up the new one, etc. The employee handling my preoder wasn't working the day I picked up my device. They seemed a little disorganized - searching cabinets in the front and back looking for my phone. I began to worry that they in fact did not have it. Then it was found...minutes later...in the first cabinet they checked. I thought "whatever, no big deal."

I'm not sure if they knew I was trading in a device since they initially didn't help me preorder the new one. The credit was already applied before and my ATT account updated to reflect the $450 remaining on the installment plan, which I planned to just pay off a week later. Anyway, I keep thinking I could have just walked out with the new device PLUS my old one lol.

Here's where things get funny...
several days later, i get an email from BB saying my preoder was not picked up so the order has been cancelled, and the tax i paid on it will be refunded. I thought this was strange. So I checked my ATT account to see that the installment account created for this new phone has been CANCELLED...I am checking my bank account every morning to see if the refund has gone through - labor day weekend might have delayed it. But if in fact the refund does go through and the installment account actually is cancelled, i will have gotten this note 10+ as an even trade for my note 9 lol.

Cannot believe there are still delays on these phones. I preordered my Sprint Note 10+ right after midnight on the started preorder day. Got the phone on the 21st. Aura Blue, 256 gb. Would have preordered straight through Sprint but had some site issue, preordered through Best Buy and chose ship to home. Turned in my note 9 (via mail) last week
 
I stopped by Best Buy tonight and they are still in the dark here. My order is still blank on their computer. As in not showing a date yet. The Sales rep Said they have not recieved any Note 10+ phones yet this week. I expressed my thoughts to him that I would feel so much better if someone (Samsung or Best Buy) would be able to give us a straight forward answer instead of keeping us all in the dark.

Yeah, same thing happened to me, I got the same email, my BB account shows refund in progress, AT&T account shows my old phone to upgrade, I'll see if it gets resolved by the 10 day refund mark - I'll take it as me being an AT&T plan subscriber for a couple of decades as a "thank you for your loyalty" gift!

I finally decided to start a chat with Verizon Customer Care since Best Buy is still not helping at all. I am sorry for the length this is the chat I had with Verizon Customer

@7h3d34f0n3 so verizon has their own place in Best Buy and for some reason your order was not logged into the verizon system?

That is what I got out of the chat with Verizon customer care. I highlighted the important part where they need to enter it into Verizon's system so they hopefully don't miss that part. I guess the next phone I get after my Note 10+ I will try going directly through Verizon.

I watched them all they did was enter my phone # & then verified my name. I talked to a second person finally. Phone #....name.... it looks like we (Best Buy) are having issues getting Note 10 orders in as a company not just locally. HOLY CRAP I GOT AN ANSWER! He then said I understand your frustration & we will let you know when a shipment comes in. Funny side note. There was a active duty Army person next to me asking about his pre ordered Note 10+ also. He was told his was going to be here 8/23 too, his problem is he is being deployed this coming week & he does not ave his Note 10+ he was guaranteed. I would not want to be there when he does not get his Note.
