just looked at that link, current version number is 4.2.... and unrevoked is still only 3.7... which is the last update on froyo

also agrabren once again just tweeted tonight that we will get root, hopefully is soon

I haven't seen them post anything on Twitter but agrabren. just said root is still coming. Build # 4.24 I believe.

How does that work if you dont have a warranty, Would i be able to use the tool ?

I haven't found an answer to this this, but am still looking onto it. Maybe the devs will be able to work around this issue

I tweeted agrabren yesterday about porting the exploit to OG EVO . Same response its being worked on. I just had to hear it lol

it's been 6 weeks now. and since they got new phones. there's no mo interest in old.

Sad to say but what you said makes more sense than waiting around on the fix, when I get new phones I usually say out with the old... thats what how they feel I guess:'(

Guys, you have to be patient. They would tell us if they were not going tto work on it at all. I have spoken with several on the irc channels and they have said that the OG Evo is just proving to be more elusive than any of the other phones that have been rooted already.

i'm as patient as can be.

but let's be realistic. they've all probably got the 3d. and the 4g has been discontinued. and it's been almost 8 weeks.

call up sprint and ask for a replacement phone. they will tell you that the evo is on back order.
that's code meaning the phone no longer exists. and they can't give you a replacement untill someone else breaks down.

i have 2 phones. and i've been trying for 2 months to get some satisfaction for a working phone.
i'm a truck driver. all i get is software wipes at each city i try. in this day and age. it's not possible for the hardware to croak. it's always software related.

If teamwin says root is coming... I have no reason to not believe them.

I know it asking a lot to stay patient, but, what else is there to do? Have a mental breakdown?

everyone claiming that the og evo is being forgotten because of new phones, you are only half right, its been so long for this update to get root because developers didn't start working on the og evo again until they finished rooting the evo 3d, so even though the update has been out for 2 months, it isn't actually taking that long for developers to achieve root

If your warranty ran out or you got the phone used then you would still be able to use the tool there would just be no warranty to void. Voiding a warranty isn't key to using the tool

This warranty thing and the tool to unlock the bootloader is not for the OG EVO 4g from what I understand. I have tweeted agrabren on Aug 6th and he said OG EVO is being worked on. I have no reason to think OG EVO will not get root.

thunderkiss, yeah i also doubt that the evo will get support for bootloader unlocking but the concern over needing a warranty to use the tool applies to all phones that would support it, also it's been posted a few times now that agrabren has tweeted about the evo being worked on, read back a page or two to see that

I just bought this phone about a month ago. I had the choice of buying 3d . I thought in my mind I have no use for 3d its a freaking phone for gods sake. And at the time without investigation of the OG EVO for some reason I was positive this phone could be rooted. I had 30 days to return the phone in good shape and get the 3d. But over this last month I waited for the exploit for the OG EVO's exploit. Well my 30 days are up I hope I didn't make the mistake by not getting the 3d.
