[PSA] Rooting the new 2.3 is [ITS POSSIBLE GUYS!!!] 8/14/11

hi, so im trying to download revoultionary 2.3.3 gingerbread but, whenever i type the code into command it says incorrect code and makes me abort. The reason for that was because when i downloaded um this, Goo-Inside.me

i didnt save it to my SD card. How do i do that? and if so is where any way to do it without putting it into you're computer? so can you do it via usb cable?

Heya folks,

So I succesfully installed the drivers, and have Revolutionary running. Everything has been smooth so far, however I'm sitting ag "Zerging Root... this may take a minute or so... ". I've been at this step for a little over 10 minutes now. How long should I expect this step to take, and have I done something wrong? I do have USB debugging enabled, and my Evo is on Charge Only.

It isn't hard to get S-OFF with it. For those that want to see how it goes here is a vid. It isn't the EVO but the procedure should be the same.

uninstall HTC Sync, restart your PC and phone, then try again.

At this time the only OS that you can choose is Linux or Windows

Bootcamp your Mac so you can have windows on it and not feel left out on the root tool lol

Yes you can now root the EVO that has the gb ota

And do I need to remove HTC sync and uncheck fastboot smokecrawler before beginning. I didn't notice that in the vid.

Ok so glad to hear root is available. Problem is I have a refeb phone from asurion and I don't see a serial # on the silver backing they put over the original Hex#'s and all. Any idea on how to get it from here???

Make sure you keep the .exe file in the folder you unzipped it into.

Remove HTC Sync as some had problems with it being installed. I would uncheck fastboot as your phone will reboot a few times. Yeah just follow along with the video and you'll be fine

Can't find a sn# anywhere! Even on the box it was shipped to me in does not have a sn# on it

Any ideas or other ways I can find this out!!!
