I have a pop-up notification for the last week, usually at night.

Says my account has been hacked and to click here to fix. I DON'T CLICK ON ANYTHING LIKE THAT.

It has a Google G logo.

All of my Google email accounts have two stage authentication in use.

I can't find an answer by searching online.

This has got to be a known thing that's common I just haven't seen it or heard of it before.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thank you

Where did that notification come from ? Chrome ?
Just like when I get a list of notifications, like an email, a FedEx shipping update, a YouTube new video to watch, or this new post... And, I drag down from the top of the screen to see them all.

I mostly use Duck Duck Go browser, but also Firefox. I never really use Chrome.

I'm not sure if I answered your question, or not, or helped you.

Thanks

Quick way to tell if that notification came from usually is turning notifications off in your browser see if it disappears.

Also check in settings>notifications>notifications history check the time stamp when u got the notification to what application in notifications history to determine where it came from .

Okay I'll go back and look and I'll be ready if/when it comes back

On edit... My notifications history was not turned on. It is now.

I was getting the notification with the notifications turned off.

I turned back on notifications.

I got one key now. Long pressed on it, and nothing came up Checked notifications and it didn't show in the list. I could see everything before and after, but it wasn't in
the list.
😕 Very strange. And the notification contained a phone number, but no last number.

When I long press, I'm given an option to turn off notifications.... In guessing it's for that notification in the future? That may be my only choice.

The area code 929
Area code 929 is a phone number area code for New York City, covering the boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx, as well as part of Manhattan:

Area code 929
Coverage
Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and part of Manhattan
Status
Overlay area code for 718 and 347
Introduced
2011
929 is part of a larger overlay plan with area code 917, which covers all of New York City.
A 929 area code phone number can be a popular choice for businesses and individuals looking to establish a local presence in New York City. It can help businesses build trust and credibility with clients and customers, and improve cold calling performance.

Strange that I was getting the notification with notifications turned off. And, it's not a text. If a number is not in my contact list, it gets put aside.

Long-pressing a notification ought to bring up more information about the app that's giving it. What happens if you long-press a notification from a legitimate app (like from any Google app)?

I'm attaching the notification if your post from Tapatalk and the second is the scareware

Both are what shows up with a long press.
Thanks

That looks more like the screen that shows up after long-pressing a notification and then tapping the settings gear that shows up, like here:

Can you show the expanded details of the notification instead, like shown above, or does that not show up?

In any case the screenshot you showed makes it look like there's some shady app that's been installed that purposely does not include a visible icon or app name. Have you looked through the Settings>Apps list to see if there's anything suspicious (like a seemingly blank app entry)?

Sorry for the order. In the list of apps, the last two don't have a name or icon.

The other screenshots show what I could find.

I never found a great icon to press to get info like you posted.

Maybe factory reset and change passwords to be safe
Okay... stupid question
When you do a factory reset, I understand you have to reinstall all the apps.

Will the play store know what apps I had? And, I can easily reinstall all of them from a stored list?

Second.. will all my shortcuts on each page still be intact? I expect not as the apps are deleted. That's gonna be a Major problem.

Last... THOSE last two apps with no name and no icon or logo.... You don't think that those might be the problem and just need to be deleted? I would prefer to do something with those.

If you have Google back up on everything should be there again included home screen setup , if you have shortcut from web browser I don't think it will or phone shortcut.

I would go to back up and choose back up.now also so it can get the latest.

The last 2 after zoom?

I have zoom. But, never used it in this phone. Been two years or more.

Having to try to remember my browser shortcuts to medical, prescription, banking, investing and many other other things is pretty much impossible
