Real Life Battery life

It's early days yet. Need a few cycles for the phone to learn. Today I am on target for around 20 hours, which is plenty.

Early days are sufficient to realize it won't be great - good, but not great like Z3 or iPhone 6s plus. What you are getting now i was also getting in the first days of using Moto XPE. No way you can stretch it much further from what you are getting now .
If they were to keep it at 1080p ( perfectly logical at that size) only then we could talk 2 day battery or 7hrs Sot in a day.
Also Android is still far from iOS in stand by efficiency. It should be losing 1% for at least a few hours. And obviously when in use there is a lot of work to do

Still getting great battery life. Just shy of 3hrs continual use, incl 1hr of blasting internal speaker at max, and I'm still 75% full. I was previously thinking maybe it would get worse when I got all my apps loaded up and such but took care of that this morning and the battery is still great.

Phone starting to get a little warm on this 3rd hour but it's not uncomfortable. Still running cooler than anything else I've owned so I'm thrilled.

BTW, am I supposed to season the battery or anything (let it drain all the way, then charge)? I think 75% is the lowest I've gotten it because the bugger just sips battery in normal use.

Where's the GSAM screenshots?

I love hearing this but being a motor head I wonder if you got a factory freak? In the auto world you always see that "one" car that seems to defy logic. You see it. You experience it. But you have no explanation for it. I hope my phone (due within the hour) follows your phones footsteps! :-)

That is impressive. I am getting around 20 hours with 3+ hours SOT. will upload another GSam screen shot tonight.

I don't have stats but I can tell you it definitely gets much better battery life than my s6 edge. Overnight drain is tiny amount too. Very happy so far.

I really expected to see more improvement over Moto XPE. You know - super efficient 820, better display, etc. Seems like nothing changed at all. Maybe it's just Android to blame

Have already spent a lot of time with the 10 and it definitely has better battery life than the MXPE - a lot of my usage comes during my commutes - my MXPE was down to 56% when I got to the office this morning - the 10 by comparison would be at 80-85% with the same usage.

So far today I have used 25% in a little over 5 hours with 1 hour of SOT. That should equate to approximately 20 hours with 4 hours SOT.

Yesterday's battery usage. I was listening to music on the phone pretty much the whole day, with a mix of wired headphones and bluetooth headphones.Battery seems pretty decent to me for it being awake for music most of the day.

I take it that the screen was off for the bulk of the time. Do you have a SOT for those approximate 10-11 hours?

Does that mean the battery screen? If so, I'll capture one. I plan to let it just run today and see how long it takes to go all the way down.

Well, I don't know that they're THAT good compared to others (everyone seems to be getting 1% per-hour in standby) but I think I did find part of the "trick" today. Most of my viewing was at home, where I keep the lights pretty dim. Today I was in the car for an hour and playing a game and it went down pretty fast. About 12% in an hour. I think the screen brightness has a lot to do with that because when I looked in the battery mgr, it was mostly the screen.
Also, I work at home so I'm mostly on wifi and the phone only looks for a mobile data signal about 1 or 2 hours a day when I'm out. I don't know if that has anything to do with anything though. I'm not real battery savvy.

Sounds decent. BTW, do you know if it's helpful to let the battery "season" or drain all the way down at first? I'm hesitant to do it because my M8 would sometimes dump my passwords and other memory (like my keyboard dictionary) when I let the battery fully die.

I've heard that with the batteries that are in phones now there is not a need to drain the battery all the way down. At least that was what was being said over in the Sammy threads on battery life.

Today was my first full day with a SIM in the phone. After twelve hours in a tractor with everything on I was at 25%. Three generations of Moto X could only last more than eight hours if I went the battery warrior route.
I'm very satisfied with the battery performance so far.

Don't know if this is helpful but here's nearly 23 hours daily-type use (I had a bout of insomnia) and I still have 21% left. Says I started at 100% but, FWIW, I know it was not full when I pulled it off the charger.
Mix of browsing, games, dozen or so photos, streaming music (headphones & speaker), emails, what not. Since it drains 1% per hour in standby, I estimate that even if I got a good 7hrs sleep I'd still wake up with it having been 30hrs since a charge and a usable 14% still left.

While some reviews boast of others phones having a better battery, that's clearly an irrelevant to someone like me who will never notice the difference. One difference I DO notice is that in the time it took me to type this out, quick charge took the phone from 21% to 37%.

Three days and I am at 48%, but I don't use my phone a lot and have a lot of screen on time. So far I am very happy with the battery life.

No. GSAM is an app that gives for greater battery usage detail.

My last batter stat. Looking pretty good I'd say :)

10 hours off the charger with heavy text and email use and I still have 50% left. Not too shabby for its first full day of use. I expect it to improve slightly over the next few days.

After second charge: 75% at 14 hours off battery, lost only 3% while asleep. Light usage, maybe 10 - 15 pics or so and a phone call. Most of the time on Wifi. Not shabby at all!
