Doze is pretty awesome. Probably one of the best things they have put in the OS. Helps a ton with that idle.
Whole heartedly agree.

My ten gets approximately double the battery life of my mxpe. 16 hours vs 8 hoursWhile I don't have any problems getting through the day it seems like the 10 is going through the battery much more than my MXPE. Might not be, maybe I'm just more aware of it since the 10 has a usable battery percentage on the status bar.
I love the phone, but my battery life is for ****. I charge it overnight and take it off around 7am when I leave for work. I am hardly on it at all, and am very diligent about making sure applications aren't running in the background. By 4pm, I've got only 30% left. It's awful - especially for NOT using it during the day!
(Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.)
I'm coming from an s6 so this battery life is perfect for me. And it seems to be getting better. I keep location on battery save mode, turn off Google now, and my mails are on manual sync, and auto bright off, and keep it around 45%
A moderator on the NBR forums just posted this when I told him about my concern with the battery life:I love the phone, but my battery life is for ****. There's a big bug in the current Broadcom driver in the kernel that causes massive power drain when WiFi is enabled. 2.5-3% per hour or so. LTE standby is like 1% or less.
It has an LCD so naturally screen on time is going to be affected. There also appears to be a higher power consumption with the Sharp display than the Tianma display.
Not really BC the power and speed is the same. I just do it to stretch my daythis is like using a Ferrari with only 4 of its cylinders, totally defeats the purpose of having a flagship phone.

I'm getting about double the battery life on my 10 than I did on my MXPE as well.
I was just on a 2 hour Skype call (VoIP) from Dubai to the US and 15 mins on Facebook, battery life still @ 59% at the end of the day. Standby time is superb! loving this phone. This is with all my apps loaded.I'm getting almost triple the battery life I was getting in my M9. For example, in the morning I have a 30 minute drive to work. GPS( in high accuracy mode) would dispose of 12 percentage points. I wanted to test my 10 and it only took off three percentage points. And by the end of the day I would get home with 10-20% left on my M9. The 10, I'll get home with 45-60% left. So far, this phone is on track to beat out my M8 battery life.

I really am astounded at how good it really is!

Coming from a Galaxy S7, this thing's battery blows the S7 out of the water. I had to charge the S7 thrice a day. Using the same apps and doze active on all apps. Samsung phones suck battery in standby time like tomorrow if you have WiFi on. With this phone, I don't disable anything, I have location on, Wifi, only Bluetooth and NFC are off since I never use them.
When you say "Wi-Fi on" are you saying that it's on and the phone is connected to it while it's in standby mode? Or are you saying that the Wi-Fi is on but it's not connected, while the phone is in standby mode?
