Reason and fix for Rdio, Rhapsody, Sirius/XM, BitBop, et al failing over 3G after OTA

Has anyone talked to Sirius lately to find out when they are going to release the Froyo version of their application. I know it says coming soon, but is that days, weeks, months. I don't really want to buy an App to get Sirius, since it is free already, but with Fantasy Football starting, I need to here Sirius on the road.

On this page you can sign up to get an update for when it's working.

No ETA.

Hey Apex - When I listen to xm using their application on my PC and don't change the channel, it will timeout after about 2 hours with a message somewhere along the lines of "your session has ended to to inactivity". You have to click the channel you were listening to and it starts up again. For some reason, the ORB/xmtuner setup seems to timeout after a couple of hours too. I never had that issue using the xm android app...which I want again soon :(

this whole Sirius issue is really starting to piss me off...we paid "x"amount of dollars for the premium whatever to be able to listen from our phones and now we cant even do that...IMO thats BS!!!!

On another note i had seen somewhere that the xm side of internet radio is actually gone and now its just the Sirius app with the two combined....thats prob why XM users are having so much trouble...

Is it just the HTC phones having issues with 2.2 and siruuos xm? And yes Sirius is the only source since they merged they took all the good stuff from xm and killed the rest. And again i have no issue with my app on froyo and Droid X.

I just installed the Sirius 1.1.0 app from the Sirius website, and it does fix the issues.

Finally. :)

The reasons why I have stuck with DC 3.2.3 just keep piling up. Got my wife an Evo on Monday, and was shocked at how many negatives there were compared to the few positives. Froyo isn't a panacea by any stretch of the imagination

Question for you guys. I have an Epic so no Froyo yet. I also have a lifetime subscription but to qualify for the sirius/xm app you need to have the premium subscription which of course means a monthly fee. With Froyo able to play flash can you operate sirius using their regular online internet player that you would use when visiting sirius.com via a PC? If so then you could get ALL of the channels including Stern.

Even with Flash, you can't play Sirius directly from the Internet. You need a program that can play that format.

The only program that does this so far is Wunder Radio. With Wunder Radio you can now listen to everything the app does, but you can also listen to Stern. Wunder Radio does cost $6.99(one time cost), but if you want Stern, this is the only way to get him live through your Sirius account.

Here is the AppBrain link to Wunder Radio

i saw someone mention this earlier in the thread. question, does that app simply allow you to use your own sirius account (id and password) to play sirius OR is it an app that obtains sirius streams on it's own and really you're "stealing" sirius?

for those that have this app, how reliable is it?

You use your own id and password. You start Wunder Radio, scroll down to Sirius option, hit log in to Sirius. It basically lets you sign in on the web on the Sirius log in page(just like if you were home on your computer) and put in your own id and password. Once you sign in, Wunder Radio takes over to become the player for content. But you get everything you would get signing into Sirius on the web from your computer, including now able to get Stern.

I use it when I want to listen to Stern and use the regular Sirius App for everything else. Wunder Radio does work pretty well and it is perfectly legal.

The 1.1.0 release has fixed my EVO!

Welcome back Opie & Anthony (and little Jimmy)!!!

Siriusxm app broken after update for anyone else?

It quit working again, like after the froyo update. Except now it won't connect, last time it just kept looping.

no sirius/xm

same thing happened to me, i think its from todays update to the firmware. I called sirius/xm and they werent able to tell me much. i havent called sprint yet. I did notice that it works fine if you turn off the network and use wi-fi. But when you try to use the sprint network forget it it just stays loading on whatever channel you pick.

Same problem here. My gut told me not to update after all the streaming problems last time, but of course I had to do it.
