Received Official Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OTA this morning

Hey guys maybe it was a coincidence or maybe not but once I tried this method I got the OTA immediately

Just tried this twice. Didn't work. I oh well, I've rocked jb so long that ics feels like a new os anyway. I'll welcome my jb ota whenever I get it.

So I guess if we don't have a wifi network available (I'm 3G/4G), we don't get updated until October 1st???

Well apparently they've moved it up to the 2nd (at least that's what it said when I got the OTA)

Try this, it worked for me on first try.

Force CheckIn - Galaxy Nexus Update Trick , Manual Update Link Attached !! ~ EXPLORE IT

Guys try this, It worked for me in first try.
Requirements :
Fully stock Galaxy Nexus device
Wifi Connection to download the software update
The Following steps to be Followed :
Go into Setting -> Apps -> All -> Google Services Framework
You will see a button for ?Clear Data?; clear it.
Go into your dialer and type *#*#2432546#*#* - This will cause a ?force checkin?. You will notice that it shows ?checkin succeeded? across the top.
Go back to Setting -> About Phone -> System updates and then click the check now button.

Tried this one with my wife's phone and still no go. I'm not buying any of these tricks... IMO, waiting until the update hits your phone is the only trick that works.

When I did it and the clicked on system update the screen said my system is up to date BUT it said it was last updated 12/31/1969 as soon as I saw that I knew it would work.

Still nothing her for me. I remember going through this with my Nexus S. It seemed like the wait took days.

It says that every time you clear data on GSF. Still doesn't pull the update.

Do not touch anything except for what this says in the order it says. I made sure before doing this, all my recent apps were swiped clear.

1. Wifi- ON...
2. settings->data usage>-mobile data OFF.
3. settings->More (under wireless & networks)->Mobile Networks->UNcheck Data Enabled.......
4.settings->Apps->All->Google Services Framework->Force Stop->Clear Data.......
5.ONLY click HOME Button (not the back button!).....
6.Multitask (recent apps) Button (just to the right of the Home button)......
7.swipe away the settings window that is there.......
8.Settings->About Phone->System Updates.???

? I did it easily 100 times last night to no avail. I gave up! Then this morning I tried again, nothing! Kept saying I was up to date! So I rechecked everything and realized I forgot to click Mobile data OFF in step 2 lol...once I did that, it started right away!? I have never rooted, this was stock from the store. OH, and I was plugged in charging as well. Not sure if that has any bearing though.

I heard rumor that sometime today VZW put a patch in place to block this being done, but I don't know anything else about that. It wouldn't make sense to me since they're updating ota.

Anyway, I hope this helps yas! Let me know!

Doesn't work and when you cut off data usage the other option already becomes unchecked so their i no way you cut it off then unchecked the other option

I was very skeptical of this as I literally tried every other trick multiple times for the last 2 days, but this worked on the very first try.

As a side note, JB makes this phone absolutely fly.

I did it as above in detail...maybe try step 3 and then step 2? I just know in fact those conditions above were met. And then I enjoyed my Jelly Bean OS update.

Do you have Jelly Bean yet or still ICS?
I really do hope you get it soon if you haven't received the update yet. It truly is beautiful.

Received the updated on mine by doing the trick update. Took 9 tries before updating 12:30 am today. Very happy indeed!

Again, just because it "works" for you after trying this, doesn't mean anything because there are plenty of other people who it doesn't work for.

No need to get upset, just saying it worked for me...
