Registration for "immersive Gear VR experience for $99" - How did it Go

I registered just now. I ordered my phone from T Mobile so I didn't have a sales receipt so I just used the confirmation email I was sent. It says that my claim is pending. I hope I get it.
 
I also used my confirmation email as receipt. Wish I had done it through the app instead. Now I have to wait. I clicked the immersive bundle and it said I'll get a link to buy it once my claim is approved. Just hoping that doesn't take too long
 
The fiasco here for Samsung - COMMUNICATION.

It's inconsistent throughout there system - website ordering status, promotion ordering status and customer service ranks. Much of this is avoidable if they had consistent communication of status throughout the system.

All channels need to be sending/communicating the same things - email, twitter, facebook, webpages, android apps, etc.

Right now it's a ragtag of info that says different things depending on how you seek the "status". I would also have every automated communication sent via whatever the channel to have a form # so when a customer has an issue they can reference what was sent - then the customer can say I got a Form 4567 which says - Samsung can look it up and yes that's right or no something's amiss.

Enough of my whining - where's that cheese!

You know looking at your message status - makes some sense if you didn't have other anecdotal evidence.

Give us up to 2 weeks to make sure you qualify for this offer based on your submitted materials.

But what about the people who are registering with the Shop Samsung App and paying for the $99 right then and there. Now IMEI and WIFI MAC should clearly be traceable by Samsung thru a database query. The documentation from carrier and retail outlets will likely need human intervention or AI. But how are the app people able to complete their transactions so quickly.

My guess is the app functionality was all checked out in advance. The desktop/laptop webpage portion wasn't verified. At Go Live moment this malfunctioned and those using this method are in the "lurch/mercy" of Samsung's process and/or goodwill as the promotional item inventory decreases - clearly not FIFO.

For the promo - it should be simple to code the Check Gift Status inquiry to return a message - Your Item 1 or 2 is reserved. We are checking the submitted material. If this is all complete in 4 weeks the item will be shipped. You will receive email communication if additional items are needed.

Mine above is ambiguous at best and I don't know where I really stand. Again poor communication.
 
Just registered mine with the app and it says approved but have not received any notice to pay for the $99. bundle.
I checked the bundle while registering but no email or anything. :(
 
Once mine said approved I got an email with a link to buy the bundle after I did that I received a confirmation email. Now I wait for a shipping email.
 
I think if you we're able to register your claim for the $99 bundle then you will end up getting it. When they recieve a certain number of selections for the $99 bundle then that selection will no longer be able to be selected and only the free bundle will be able to be selected. This is all speculation of course but it seems like the most logical. Let's hope those that have already registered a claim for the $99 will be guaranteed.

I attached said pic and later found out I needed to post a pdf of my EIP for it to approved. I recieved a rejection email because of the "receipt image" asking me to follow the link to upload correct image in jpeg format or pdf so i uploaded my EIP pdf and now I'm waiting on approval email with purchase link.

I had the same problem trying to add the $99 bundle via my desktop computer. Really annoyed about this!

It almost seems like if you pay for the upgraded package you get instant approval, through the app at least.

Did you get a confirmation email ? I did the VR only package too but never got an email. But have the Being Reviewed status

Where are you seeing "Being Reviewed" status? I used the App on the phone selected the bundle, attached my Verizon customer receipt and have gotten no confirmation of any type. I got a stupid "Thanks for Joining the Galaxy" email hours later but nothing else. The option isn't on the app anymore.
 
Have you checked the Samsung promotions page and enter your email address and see if anything comes up?

Ya, under "Check Gift Status" I was thrilled to discover that I was approved and sent my free wireless charger back in November 2015......
 
I checked my Samsung promotions page, nothing is there....this is ridic. But when I tried to register via the Samsung app it said I had already registered for the promo. Still no email. I am about ready to give up. I really wanted the headphones. I have enough cards. I am sending them an email about it. :(

No, I haven't. I never recieved an opportunity to pay or I would've paid for it. My status still says it's being reviewed. I sat on hold 2 times with Samsung, both times being kicked out and hung up on. About 2 hours on hold in total. I'm really hoping my selection is secured and guaranteed since I already made the selection and submitted my claim around noon Wednesday.
