[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

2.9.1 Update...

I flashed 2.9.1 last night and so far, no rebooting-Thanks Adrynalyne!
Unfortunately, it looks as though the FC bug that was hitting in 2.8 is back....can't really explain it...buble pops up says something like *99 to FC and then click ok to close.

FWIW.....Auto Rotate works fine, and soft keys light when I touch them, otherwise off.

New and Learning, Please Help!

Okay, I've install the 2.9SC all-in-one with odin, how to i go about updating to 2.9.1? I know how to reboot into recovery but then I only have 4 choices and none of them are clear to me as what to do with my 2_9_1.zip file. Sorry for the dumb questions, I just can't figure it out or find information that helps me with what I'm seeing. Thanks for helping a newbie....

If you already have the file on the base of your sd card, boot into clockworck. I usually choose to wipe cache and dalvik cache before flashing anything new also but you don't always have too. Then scroll down to install from zip, use the power button or return softkey to select. Then when your on that screen scroll down to choose zip from sd and select it. then hit the volume up, it will take you to the bottom of the list where you 2.9.1.zip should be, highlight the file and select it, Then when the screens ask to confirm, hit yes and it will install. Then hit the search button to go back to the first screen if your not on it and select reboot.
EDIT: you can wipe cache from the first screen, to wipe dalvik you have to go to the advanced screen.

Thank you also for 2.9, I put it on this morning and the auto rotate doesn't work on the home screen. It works when in an app, just not when looking at home screens or the list of apps.

Is is supposed to be that way?

Also with this, I do have the box checked for auto-rotate screen in display settings, which does make the apps rotate.

yeah, that's normal.

Awesome, that's what I needed, thank you so much!! This is so fun!

That is definitely NOT normal; I have NEVER had that problem on the home screen.

Something be amiss with your build for sure. What launcher are you using? Have you rebooted since flashing 2.9? Mayhaps you want to reflash 2.9 (wipe cache and data this time [back up apps first!] if you didn't before)

The home screen nor the launcher should rotate unless you're using something other than the default launcher

I am using the stock launcher that came with 2.9, and I have rebooted several times. I will try flashing 2.9 again to see if that helps.

Aaah, my bad. I stand corrected. It's been so long since I used stock I didn't even notice.

No problem, in the future if your not be a computer or don't want to flash a new rom on ODIN you can do it the same exact way. I used ODIN for the first flash and that was it, but it's just a matter of personal preference. I think clockwork is just more convenient because you can just download the zip to your sd on your phones browser and have it flashed in about five minutes, it takes longer to boot the phone the first time after clearing cache than flashing.

Can anyone give me a hand with the below questions? I still can't find that darn patch, I'm beginning to think it was in my head :o) lol.

So far 2.9 had been running strong for me, no hiccups at all that I've experienced. Great job Adryn! It was an effortless upgrade to cwm all, 2.9, and kernel. All in one happy package!

Thanks in advance! :-)

Don't know about the patch, but you enable disable the agps/gps in menu=>settings=>location and security. You have three locations services - Verizon, stand alone, and Google. Check mark - enabled, no check mark - disabled. Leave a check mark on Verizon and Google. Adrynalyne has advised turning on GPS by going to this menu and enabling stand alone rather than through the quick panel in the notification bar. I found out yesterday from playing around, putting a check mark after stand alone services turns on the gps icon in your quick panel.

Well crap.... Just applied the 2.9.1 update via CwM along with the VA Green theme and I think I am experience my first force close loop of hell. Phone boots-I see my phone screen but can't do anything-force close vibration pattern-boot animation plays-repeat...

I was using 2.9 voodoo and experienced a few force close issues and now I am stuck. I'm guessing that I am going to have to us an ODIN package and ODIN over everything.... correct? Or is there more involved in the F.C.L.O.H?

Try to hard boot into recovery. (Volume up and down while holding the power button, Sammy screen will blip off and then back on, release the keys) Hopefully you kept straight up 2.9 voodoo on your SD card. Try to flash that again and see what happens? I know a few people have been getting incomplete downloads. If that fails then I would ODIN.

*Edit: Also, try only flashing one file at a time. Flash 2.9, re-boot, then back into recovery to flash your theme.

+1 on flashing things individually with a reboot in between. You will also have better success flashing when your battery is closer to 100%. I have actually found increased success when flashing while the phone is plugged in.

Finally took the plunge and went with Superclean 2.9. I notice that my phone is definitely faster, but the battery seems to be draining pretty quick, even when just in stand by mode.

Make sure GPS is turned off when you are not using it. Just a problem with EB01 for now.

Isn't it amazing how you forget some of this stuff? I'm only about two months rooted and removed from stock and a guy at work asked me how to change something in touchwiz on his Epic and I was like, Daaaaahhh, I don't remember :p

Upgraded to SC 2.9 Nonvoodoo yesterday and its been running like a champ, no force closes like i was seeing in 2.8. Also im using the Rotary unlock and have been running music player (with the screen locked) for hours now and no reboots or problems. May upgrade to 2.9.1 though if it really makes the GPS better.
Thanks Adryl !

i posted this this morning,

I flashed 2.9 last night, and started having problems so I flashed back to 2.8. When I would hit the power button the phone would go black and vibrate and if I hit the soft keys they would just light up. I would have to pull the battery.

i got this as an answer,

I've mentioned this before, but I do not support themes. If you flash themes or mods that are not compatible with this rom, expect problems.

Don't deny it This issue comes from flashing different framework over mine.

this was my answer,

I didn't flash any theme, the only thing that I flashed was cwn-recovery-all

did cwm cause my rom to mess up? should i try 2.9 again?
i flashed cwm recovery all because mine was blue, and i was thinking about installing a theme. now that i am back on 2.8 my cwm is blue again.
