[Retired][ROM]Superclean 2.9.2 EA15/EB01/EB16/EC10 Based

When I lower the volume of the ringer the lowest I can go is vibrate, I can't silence the phone. Is this done on purpose or a glitch?

yes, the power button.

try rebooting into recovery and do a cache wipe and a dalvik wipe (dont reflash 2.9.2) reboot and see it if works

if not, I would do the same thing again, but this time reflash 2.9.2

thats the best I can think of, but more experienced people on here might know better

But, give it a try, it cant hurt

tnez - i have flashed those...still not seeing it. I'm running launcher pro & when I pull up the widgets it's not listed. I want "Buddies now" I thought that originally there was a flash for the Samsung Clock & the Buddies now widgets....back around SC 2.6 or so
I went to an X & came back to the Fascinate and now I can't find them to flash

they wont come up on launcher pro. those app/widgets only work on the TW launcher.

I use the AVG Antivirus software and it has that feature. If you have it, open AVG, press the soft menu button and choose the "Remote" option. From there you can select to show or not show the lock screen message, as well as edit the message itself. I like it. That way if my phone is locked and lost an *honest* person will be able to see my contact info to return it.

That was it. I had antivirus installed and went into the settings and changed it. I really appreciate the help!!

Thanks

2.9.2 GREAT have 2 questions

The E-mail program that comes with, I can't get the Signature to change, even though it shows the change in the settings, if I enable Signature, it is the default one. The second issue is haptic feedback in the Android Keyboard doesnt work, it does work with Swift just not the stock one.

TIA Ned

The files listed on the first post u dont flash with ODIN. You download them, place on sd card and flash with CWM. Hope that helps!

He has the filename listed for one of DroidXCon's ODIN packages, so he should be using ODIN, not CWM.

Drepollesol, make sure you have the battery out when you are using ODIN, and that you are holding the "down" volume toggle as you are plugging your phone into the PC. I would give it another shot since you have gotten this far.

try this. this is what worked for me. Clear data on launcher pro then immediately reboot. dont touch anything. then Long press on the contacts icon, choose change shortcut, choose applications, choose phone, choose default icon. Click on phone icon, click back soft key. Long press on that same phone icon, change shortcut, applications, contacts, default icon, click icon, try back button. Then restart again. All shall be good after that! Let me know. I got to this with the help from Sharky

You and Sharky are my new best friend. It worked like a charm. I wonder how people figure out such things. I would have never thought to do it that way. Thank you.

Why in the world would they do that?
I dont know but it really blows! The only bad thing thing that changed from Eclair to Froyo. Now to go to silent mode i just long press my power button and select silent mode. Where as before i just used the volume button to do it.

Hello all,

Just wanted to say, everyone has been a great help. Went from stock to 2.9, then to 2.9.2v with absolutely no problems. I believe i was successful because I followed the GREAT instructions word by word. (Q score 1590)

I read forums (here and XDA) last night for upwards of 6 hours. Talk about overload.

Again thanks--

One quick question, (and I know its basic I just want to do it right), can someone point me to instructions on how to DL and extract a zip file to my phone. I would like Thinkfree. I see the zip link. Thanks in advance.

Side note. I followed recommendations on extending battery life, but my battery life is pretty poor. If that is the price for voodoo, then so be it.

Just download the zip file onto your SD card from your phone browser, then boot into recovery, and flash it like you would a kernel or a ROM. No need to unzip those packages to install.

Allsack,
I noticed you just upgraded to 2.9.2 and I was trying to do the same thing this morning. I've soft-bricked my phone and have been trying to fix it all day. What instructions did you follow to complete this upgrade?
I basically followed the same steps as when I went from stock to 2.9. (listed in the first post) Thanks for the help!

Step by step instructions plus screenshot visual aids located in DroidXcon's great clockwork thread. Just click the link in the blue text in my signature.

Also how long has it been since you tried the methods in the battery thread. You won't see a huge difference, and you usually won't see any difference until after a couple days of use and charging.

I know some people were having trouble receiving text messages but my situation is a little interesting. So i can send/receive text messages from people on the verizon network but not from any other network. I can send out text and they recieve them but i dont get their response. Currently im running sc 2.9.2 voodoo with honeycomb 3.0 theme. Any help would be great. I tried restart, taking the battery out, *228. i have had this setup for the past two days but have just been having this issue this morning.

Same way we are all learning here at the forums. Someone else posted the info about long press of the icon, I tried it, played around with it when it didn't work one time, found out the reboot is sometimes needed to complete the change, and now pass on the info. Information sharing is one of the best things about the forums.

I know it's important to do a backup through CWM before loading a new ROM. After backing up and installing the ROM and setting up the phone the way you like it, I'm assuming it's a good idea to do another backup. Yes? No?

I have everything set up how I like it and apps backed up with TiBu and thinking about doing a full backup again so that if I need to restore it for any reason everything will be just like I had it.

Sorry to say, restoring a full backup in CWM is another thing that is not working in it. Jaekar99, Suicide Shift, and I have spent many hours trying to figure out how to get it to work. If you have a ROM and a theme in your nandroid backup, there will only be a very small chance you will be able to restore it without ending up in a force close loop of hell at the boot animation. We have not had any success restoring a nandroid backup of anything much more than the ROM and one patch. If you're bored and want to read about our frustrations you can read the last 10-15 pages of Jaekar99's old themes thread:

Lovin the 2.9.2...phone's running real smooth..

However, had a weird incident just a few minutes ago...

My phone would dial, but no AUDIO would play over the handset. Also it wouldn't let me select speakerphone from the dialer...My wife said she could hear me, but I couldn't hear anything.. tried youtube, no audio coming out there,...(all volumes were set to max, I checked)

THen I remembered I had plugged my earbuds in at work for a little while.

SO, I replugged them in, dialed my wife again, and could hear the ring tone, and audio through the headphones...unplugged the headphones from the 3.5mm and boom. Evertyhing fixy fixy.... except the first call I made the speakerphone button seemed to get stuck and the green indicator light that it has, wouldn't come on, it just seemed to get stuck in the depressed mode...until the next call which then it worked fine..

Maybe it was just a hardware prob in the jack itself, but have never had this happen prior..

could this be a software bug?
