When I lower the volume of the ringer the lowest I can go is vibrate, I can't silence the phone. Is this done on purpose or a glitch?
yes, the power button.by "right button" do you mean the power button?
yes, the power button.
tnez - i have flashed those...still not seeing it. I'm running launcher pro & when I pull up the widgets it's not listed. I want "Buddies now" I thought that originally there was a flash for the Samsung Clock & the Buddies now widgets....back around SC 2.6 or so
I went to an X & came back to the Fascinate and now I can't find them to flash

I use the AVG Antivirus software and it has that feature. If you have it, open AVG, press the soft menu button and choose the "Remote" option. From there you can select to show or not show the lock screen message, as well as edit the message itself. I like it. That way if my phone is locked and lost an *honest* person will be able to see my contact info to return it.
The files listed on the first post u dont flash with ODIN. You download them, place on sd card and flash with CWM. Hope that helps!
try this. this is what worked for me. Clear data on launcher pro then immediately reboot. dont touch anything. then Long press on the contacts icon, choose change shortcut, choose applications, choose phone, choose default icon. Click on phone icon, click back soft key. Long press on that same phone icon, change shortcut, applications, contacts, default icon, click icon, try back button. Then restart again. All shall be good after that! Let me know. I got to this with the help from Sharky
I dont know but it really blows! The only bad thing thing that changed from Eclair to Froyo. Now to go to silent mode i just long press my power button and select silent mode. Where as before i just used the volume button to do it.Why in the world would they do that?
Hello all,
Just wanted to say, everyone has been a great help. Went from stock to 2.9, then to 2.9.2v with absolutely no problems. I believe i was successful because I followed the GREAT instructions word by word. (Q score 1590)
I read forums (here and XDA) last night for upwards of 6 hours. Talk about overload.
Again thanks--
One quick question, (and I know its basic I just want to do it right), can someone point me to instructions on how to DL and extract a zip file to my phone. I would like Thinkfree. I see the zip link. Thanks in advance.
Side note. I followed recommendations on extending battery life, but my battery life is pretty poor. If that is the price for voodoo, then so be it.

You and Sharky are my new best friend. It worked like a charm. I wonder how people figure out such things. I would have never thought to do it that way. Thank you.
I know it's important to do a backup through CWM before loading a new ROM. After backing up and installing the ROM and setting up the phone the way you like it, I'm assuming it's a good idea to do another backup. Yes? No?
I have everything set up how I like it and apps backed up with TiBu and thinking about doing a full backup again so that if I need to restore it for any reason everything will be just like I had it.
