LOL, don't feel bad. I tried to read through one of the encyclopedia stickys when I started, and it soft bricked my brain. I rebooted like 3 hours later with a wet spot on my shirt from drooling.

I would just read the main posts very carefully 3 or 4 times. Most of the stuff you're reading about in here is from people who didn't.

GO GO JAMPOT! YOU CAN DO IT! YOU ARE HOT! *high kick* (That's gonna stick in my head for a while LOL)

It's always worked for me, except sometimes when it doesn't lol

Another good player for shoucast stations is A Online Radio for some reasons it has stations winamp doesn't have so I use both.

On a side note, I'm in love with Power Amp. I like that it plays files by folder, which none else seem to do. Really handy for techno mix cd's where the artists are all different.

Or I guess mix cd's in general, but what is this, the 80's?

My battery tanked at first yesterday too. Give it a day or two to really compare results.

Haha, yes, my brain feels soft bricked!
I'm going to go over the main posts carefully today and figure this out. I really want to understand what's going on.
Thanks for the support :D

*High kick* hehe. Yay, me!!! woot woot

2.9.2 is up and running smoothly. I've installed the boot animation and theme that I like. Only thing left to do is get touchwiz running. The launcher I got from the original thread does a force close loop (I found that out the hard way). I found one on XDA that works, but it uses 5 dock icons, and the main reason I wanted to run touchwiz in the first place was to have 4 dock icons. Does anyone have any suggestion or advice about how to get touchwiz running?

is the touchwiz.zip that's on the 2.9.2 thread different than the one that's on Andry's original superclean thread? I tried to install the one from the original thread and it doesn't seem to jive with 2.9.2.

Are you talking about the one I posted for you not working well?

I'm pretty sure they're the same, what do you mean by it's not jiving. Can you explain the problem a little more.

it's just force closing. i can't access the menu or root explorer to get out of it. had to re-flash 2.9.2.

Edit: And I did wipe my cache/dalvik.

And you're using the launcher that came with 2.9.2 correct.

Give me a sec to find the thread with the folder to delete and I'll get back to you, or someone can chime in with the LP fix in the meantime

*EDIT*
Launcher Pro and EB01 S.C. 2.9.

"It's not Launcher Pro and sc 2.9 that don't get along and won't let you save your changes, it's LP and the AOSP launcher that comes with SC. I had the same problem and it was really aggravating me that I couldn't keep the 3D app drawer. Here's what you do. If you don't have Root Explorer, get it from the market. Then open up root explorer. You will see a bunch of file folders listed in alphabetical order. Scroll to data and click on it, then scroll to the data folder on that page and click on it, then scroll to com.fede.launcher, long press on that folder and choose delete from that menu. Then scroll to the top and click on the folder that says parent folder. This will take you back one page, now click on parent folder again. On that page click on the dbdata folder, then click on the databases folder, scroll to com.fede.launcher here too and delete it. Now scroll to the top and click parent folder at the top of each page until you don't see the parent folder at the top of the page and hit the home soft key. Your changes in LP should save now. If they don't after that, a reboot of the phone should completely fix it."

Sharkie

oh, i should also mention that i'm not flashing the touchwiz.zip file. I just took the TouchWiz30Launcher.apk out of the zip and placed it the system/app file. This worked for me fine on 2.9.1, so I don't see any reason it should be causing problems now. I'll flash the zip and see if that works.

I apologize for my ignorance, but I'm even more confused now. I wasn't aware that LP was in the equation at all. In any case, I flashed the Touchwiz.zip and everything seems to be working now. But don't worry, you can be sure I'll come crawling back if something goes awry.

Did you just place the .apk in the system folder or did you install it as well? Just curious
