Check your PM.

I think this particualr ROM should have taken you to HBoot automatically (or I might be thinking of NilsP's ROM). If it takes you there automatically just select Yes and Update and it should run the update for you. If it gives you an error message pay attention to it and let us know what it says.

Looks like Scott updated the ROM to 1.7. Anyone running this yet?

For that matter, is it necessary to wipe data/cache for this one?
I didn't wipe then I transitioned from stock to CleanROM GBE 1.6.5 just to see if it would function normally, and it did. But then I went ahead and wiped and installed again anyway.

I went straight from 1.6.5 to 1.7 also. I booted to HBOOT and then went into recovery. Wiped only cache, dalvik and system. Flashed the ROM and sat back. Automatically rebooted to HBOOT, asked for a yes or no confirmation, pushed the power button and voila!

The only thing I noticed different was that on the last reboot, the phone actually shut down. I waited for what seemed like an eternity before I decided "What The Hay" and pushed the power button. Phone rebooted like it had been waiting on me the whole time.

I also swapped extended batteries with the local Verizon store yesterday so this will be interesting, breaking in a new battery with a new ROM.

Everything seems to be working just fine. In fact, the phone itself seems a little faster using Sense.

I have searched here and xda, I'm not a big fan of asking questions over at xda, and get shot down and told to use the search button......

I am having some really bad battery issues. I want to go back to bone stock so that I can go to verizon and see if I can get a battery swap. Right now I am running cleanrom GBE 1.6 based off the OTA.

I am unlocked, obviously.

I dont know how to run a RUU, or which one to use.

Im not new to flashing, but very new to HTC

Thanks so much in advance for all your help.

Can someone help me? maybe just write what I need to do.

Heather

There's no need to get back to stock just to do a battery swap. I walked in the local store yesterday and asked to have my extended battery checked because it just didn't seem right. After the usual reply of all smartphones use the battery extensively (well, duh!), I informed the chap that I had been using cell phones since 1991 beginning with the Motorola bag phone and was quite familiar with battery consumption.

The chap said they couldn't test the battery there so in that case he would just swap mine for a new one. Never asked to see the phone or for me to show him anything. Never asked what I was running app-wise much less if I was on the standard Verizon bloat ship. He wouldn't have known from looking either.

Thanks, will give it a shot. I'd like to go back to stock just to start fresh as well. Any thoughts as to how? I mean I have read over and over the forums, but there is no stpe by step guide for noobs to htc.

Flash a stock ROM. You'll have that brand new car smell on your Rezound, and still have all the fancy superuser access you want.
Oh, and tons of Verizon garbage.

Is it really as easy as this? Amon Ra recovery flash, then hboot? I was going to wait for ICS ROM, but the 1.5.5 I'm using has been smooth and terrific. Want to try this to see how the battery improves (hopefully) and willing to wipe and start building again.

This looks too easy, lol.

Have the normal Nand and Titanium backups (won't ask if I can restore from them, Scott) so going to go for it.

One other thing, should fastboot be off?

As far as I'm concerned, fastboot should always be off. As far as steps go:
Reboot into recovery
wipe data/cache [dalvik cache optional]
Flash CleanROM1.6.5 it will automatically reboot into HBOOT, press power and it will flash the kernel automatically.
Reboot and rebuild.

Did this exactly, without the factory wipe and Yeeeha! I know Scott won't guarantee anything without that factory wipe, but all my apps, settings, passwords etc. were right there after startup.

Curiously, my battery level when I started showed 80% and after flashing and reboot it was at 93%. It has quickly dropped again to 89% probably because I've been checking everything out.

Rocking it. The OTA update will never bother me again. Did the check new software, came back and said nada, nil, nothing new! Even the cache/fumo/OTAupdate.zip file of 52MB that has been sitting there with 400 permission level was removed.

BTW, did not have the issue with it not coming back after a reboot and having to press the power button. Came back every time on it's own.

Why haven't we updated the topic to 1.7? it out and it's running smooth!

Scott has abandoned AC for now, it seems. Actually, he's probably on another board. He said he got a Galaxy Tab and wanted to focus on that more, but I expect him to be back and in full Rezound swing whenever ICS comes.

I wouldn't say abandoned, but he's certainly busier than in the past. Let him enjoy some down time and the spoils of creating ROMs that are universally liked.

You mean that whole "real life" thing? Yeah, I guess devs are supposed to get back to that at some point.

I was shocked at the easy of flashing....

One other thing for Amon Ra recovery folks, wipe your battery stats so you can get a good measurement for this version of CleanROM, rather than have to olds stats from other ROMS that mess things up.
