is there a way to change the color of the notification light in the next version of cleanROM? can it be a different color for different notifications - ie...red for email, blue for sms, etc? just curious. let us know. thx.

I believe the colors are hard coded. I know that there is a red and green but not sure about blue. If there was blue LED then it would be possible. This would be a kernel level mod and I dont think any of the kernel gurus are working on this.

I'll get on it. I suspected it may be the same. No one else is having the issue, so maybe I didn't get a good flash.

There are 4 versions in that post and I tried the second one and heard from others the same thing you reported. I am wondering if I am using the wrong one. Could you tell me the name of the file you are using? Thanks!

I used this one:
Alternate 3: This full google apps pack from 20110503 includes it.



I read on XDA this one works best for 2.3.3.

Thanks for the update. The colors were more of just a reference. I came from the BB world and just so damn used to red that the green notification is hard to get used to. Wasn't sure if the ROM or Kernal was where the color was controlled. Appreciate the info. Will just wait and see what's to come!

I read that Sprint is putting out a new update, and it will be available on the 18th, and Pushed starting the 23rd. If we are running your ROM will it still PUSH the update to us, or does your ROM block those types of updates?

Do not accept any updates from Sprint! I am unaware of any pending updates but I can almost reassure you that the update will lock it down and remove root. At this time the ROM will allow you to accept updates. Do not do it though!

Can you show me a source for this update?

Thats an HTC Update... It just updates some NON core components as noted. You, in theory, should be fine to take the update. BUT BEWARE: Carriers dont always disclose all the details of the updates. For example, the LG Optimus S hd an unlocked hot spot but that was removed in an update and of course Sprint diditn say that. So take there fix list with a grain of salt.

But I will tell you this... I will apply the update to my phone as soon as its available and let you know what happens. Everyone else should hold off. Not out of fear of bricking the device or anything like that, (this ROM is close enough to stock that HTC Updates shouldnt harm it) but out of fear that it will remove ROOT and RECOVERY. I dont trust Sprint or Dan Hesse as far as I can throw them.

Looks like the update is 2.3.4 according to some early adopters. Not sure which version of gapps will work with that when you incorporate it.

Do we really have to wipe out the phone to do this rom? I've wiped and modded so many times over the last year.. just once of doing it without it would be nice
