Well it's so minor I'd hardly call it a problem, just something to be aware of... anyway I backup all apps and data using Titanium, wipe everything (factory reset via TWRP), flash the new ROM via TWRP, then restore all apps and data via Titanium.

Totally off topic, but this post made me think of something.
It's tedious re-installing every app one by one with titanium in batch mode, but well better than starting from scratch.

What's more annoying is that I have to redownload all of my saved texts from SMS Backup +. Am I missing a setting in titanium or is that the only way to get the texts back?

Now, if it only kept my icons on the same pages and I didn't have to re-input my email settings every time, titanium would be perfect!.

That's what annoys me. I have them backed up in Gmail.
Basically I think I need to wipe the phone again, don't re-install anything from titanium until I've restored my texts, and go from there. I'll report back.

Did you purchase titanium backup? If so you don't have to restore them one by one you can reinstall them all at the same time.

And yes you can restore your texts. There are two files you can restore using titanium and then after you restart your phone your text messages will be back.

Yes with the paid version of Titanium in batch mode, it's a snap. I just backup / restore everything, I don't even have to think about selecting what to backup and restore. Well when I first reset the phone after a wipe/flash cycle, I have to enter my Google account information so I can go to the Market and download Titanium, after which I can restore everything else from that with a couple of button pushes.

Actually I guess I could save a copy of the Titanium apk on the SD card, then install that before anything else, which would save a couple of steps.

I always perform a full backup which includes user all user apps + system data but you never want to restore all system data when you flash a new rom cause that will just cause issues. But you need to select that option in order for your texts to get backed up. The two files I restore for my messages after a flash is [sms/mms/apn] Dialer Storage 2.3.4 and [sms/mms prefs]m....(a bunch of numbers here and would probably be different for you). Both of these files are relatively easy to find as they will be listed in Green. Once they are restored restart your phone and your text messages should be all back in place.

Yeah I've always wondered about that... clearly different ROMs expect different system data. I guess I've been lucky... it probably helps that CleanROM gets updated so frequently, so you're not usually flashing a ROM that's completely different than the one you had.

Most of it, not all of it. They even put some in the CALCULATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one has been successful at getting rid of 100% of it but in time we will. I would say 95% is disabled or otherwise rendered unable to do its function properly in CleanROM.

It is all removed.

hey guys, iam complete newbie here (switched over from blackberry) - I got a rogers evo 3D.

Iam wondering if this cleanrom will work on my Rogers phone?

I really hate all this extra stuff on my phone that i cant delete (like facebook, picasso, soundhound, etc)

if this rom doesnt work for me can someone recommend me a way to be able to clean up all these annoying apps and spyware-like stuff. i just want to be able to install what i want to use and not have a cluttered list.

Iam wondering if this cleanrom will work on my Rogers phone?

I really hate all this extra stuff on my phone that i cant delete (like facebook, picasso, soundhound, etc)

if this rom doesnt work for me can someone recommend me a way to be able to clean up all these annoying apps and spyware-like stuff. i just want to be able to install what i want to use and not have a cluttered list.

Well, Rogers is GSM so it wont work right. It may flash but you wont be using any features that require data or phone! lol You need to look for GSM specific ROMS.
