[ROM][4.1.1][AOSP] JellyButt-v2.4 - JRO03L [8/25/12]

Total apps 106. Ram 646 USB 1Gb. I'm about to run antivirus n check also check a few other settings. I'll get back n let you know.
Also a delay on the face buttons to go home or back when waiting for An app to open.

Update. Antivirus was fine n able to run Advance Task Killer so should be set have it on auto kill every time screen is off. I'll keep updated.

Ok, I wont get into a debate about task killers with you but will you do me one favor please......... just to test something? Uninstall or freeze the Task Killer and Anti-Virus, reboot to recovery, wipe dalvik and cache and reboot. I'm curious if your issues will still persist.

Re: [ROM][4.1.1][WIP] AOSP JellyBean Source - Tether-fixed!! [8/7

I'll give it a shot n report back later. Uninstalled both antivirus n advance task killer n wiped dal kit n cache. I'll report later in evening of fixed or the same. Time will tell.

V 1.3 running great for me so far . Had to do a full wipe and re install though . I flashed over 1.2 only wiping cache and dalvak . Had tons of lag and it just didn't run right . Lesson learned : backup and do a full wipe IMO .

Stock battery mod is posted under "Optional Flashable Mods" in the OP.

Enjoy!

That's awesome sir. Thank you very much. Your ROM was the smoothest I had used to date and that was just one very small negative against it.

If still laggy tonight I'll reinstall 1.3 n wipe everything I too flashed over 1.2, perhaps that's the problem. There's no question that the Devas here make solid ROMs. Perhaps its my installation method. I find it annoying to setup apps n pages every time when doing a new ROM. But if I must than I must.

Future note for everyone. If you are having issues whatsoever with the rom and you flashed it over the top of a prior version, then please perform a full wipe and retest before reporting any issues. I'm not knocking you androidtooley....... I know resetting everything back up again is a pain but there is reason I leave those specific instructions in the OP. Basically each new build we make is performed after a resync with google source. They are changing things all the time and we have no idea if each new build will flash over the last without issue. When we test them before release, we perform a full wipe before flashing.

Checking in to give a solid 2 thumbs up for the effort here. I can say that this is the smoothest most bug-free experience I've had with the phone (transitioning from oxygen rom gingerbread). The 1st few hrs after loading the rom were tough... experienced long boot-up times, fc'ing applications etc. But after a day or so of usage (and many reboots), the thing is absolutely rock solid.

I couldn't be happier... its like having a brand new phone. Other than the instructions on the OP (wiped everything as instructed), I've also flashed a matr1x (jelly bean) kernel (i NEED BLN) and things have been great. So far 4g works fine, MMS works, gps works etc. Only thing i still need to test is tethering (both 4 and 3g) and turn-by-turn navigation.

Very Very happy user here... huge thx to the devs here!

I can verify at least 3g tether works. No 4g towers within 3 hours of me so can't test lol

Great Rom! Very smooth and I really appreciate the work.

Quick question, is there a setting within Google search that allows the search button to search within the app your in instead of doing a "global" search? If not, is there a mod that can be created to produce this affect? I really miss this from ICS.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks, again, for all of the hard work!

When I did 1st install of 1.3 it was over 1.2 to keep installed apps. Just now I have done a complete wipe n fresh install of 1.3 n Google Apps. So far everything is back on track m smooth.

Yes page 1 u had directed for a complete wipe, yet trying to install over 1.2 brought undesirable lag.

Please everyone to avoid a lag or ROM with hiccups as I have, please follow directions on page 1. I had to learn my leason. The instructions are there for a reason.

While not a full wipe, there might be something to formatting system but leaving the data partition alone. Just a thought. If that isn't viable, titanium backup or app2zip (what I use) can get you most of the way to saving you some time. With TB just don't restore system apps or its data.

Also I use nova launched to save my home screen layout and restore after flashing my app2zip package on a clean install of a new ROM.

Note on performing a full wipe.

This means;
-Wipe Data/Factory Reset (this step is important as it wipes the data partition AND android_secure from the sdcard, just formatting the data partition is not the same)
-Under "mounts and storage" format System, Cache, and Boot.

While some will say to do those steps 3 times, it really serves not purpose besides making sure YOU did not miss one of the partitions. More of a "measure twice, cut once" philosophy.

Yes I am aware of full wipe. N it was completely wiped clean for the fresh 1.3 install. I use Titanium Backup as well and also app backup and restore. Both r helpful, however I may have to look into Nova Launched.

So far smooth after full wipe n install of 1.3.
Thanks for the advice.

:D hope you didn't think it was directed only at you. I like app2zip from the market cause it makes it easy to set up a new ROM, once created just flash along side your gapps package. As for nova, even the free version allows to backup and restore.

Re: [ROM][4.1.1][WIP] AOSP JellyBean Source - Tether-fixed!! [8/7

Update: All better now!

I re-wiped everything, flashed 1.3 again but only let Titanium restore the apps. It seems the old system file backups from 1.2 were causing 1.3 to freeze and re-boot.

Update #2: Lagging again

Not sure what I'm doing wrong, if anything, but I am getting lag on 1.3 again. I've tried it 4 times now and its the same issues across the board. Did full wipes each time also.

Odd thing is going back to 1.2 fixes all problems and it runs like a champ. I'll try it again if a 1.4 comes along and hopefully everything will be good to go for me.

I'm aware it was not just directed to me. But should be discussed for those with questions or just new to this Device n Roms. So no problem.

Nova I have to setup everything or can I import what I have already?

It does not import from other launchers, at least not that I know of. So yes initially you must replicate your desired settings. Then just go to settings>nova settings>backup to find the backup and restore menu. It even has a setting to make restoring widgets faster (it cannot restore those settings as those are with thier respective apps).

Does anyone know how to get the gallery to display pictures that were in the gallery on ICS? I've had this issue with each JB ROM I've tried.
