[ROM][5/23/12][4.0.4][AXI0M] CROSSBREED and PATIENT ZERO

If I'm on PZM1 can I flash 2.5 and no wipe? Or should I use the new users download?

I flashed the "existing user" with M1 and had no problems.

As with ANY ROM... if you chose to not wipe (or in the case of th3ory's ROMs use the version that doesn't wipe your data).. then you have to realize that any and all issues you might run into should not be posted about or considered a problem with the ROM until you have done a full wipe and reflashed it.

Every single thread where people ask if they have to wipe... the answer is Yes. There is always one guy who has to come in and say he didn't wipe and everything is fine.. sigh... lol.. just get into the habit of doing full wipes if you want to upgrade or flash a new ROM, unless the developer specifically states you don't need to coming from XX version to the new version... and even then it can be a good idea to wipe.

Wiping = exorcism of demons. Do it.

Is there an option somewhere that I'm missing that will get rid of those nav button placeholder circle things, when viewing pics/video?

PZ M2.5 btw

You can change them out in SystemUI.apk... I modded mine I'll post it for you later if you like. You have adb set up right? You just need to push it via adb and reboot

@oxymoron.. assuming you have adb set up... stick this in your adb folder: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47300967/SystemUI.apk

Open command prompt in the folder and plug in phone.. do:

adb devices
adb remount
adb push SystemUI.apk /system/app/SystemUI.apk
adb reboot

Note first line not necessary but I like to do it when I first start adb to make sure the device is recognized properly...
And note capitalization and spacing are important on the 3rd line. Should switch them out for the standard small buttons when viewing pics, etc.. :)

EDIT: and yes this should only be used for PZ M2.5

Hey since I'm posting stuff... if anyone missed this on droidhive... also only for PZ M2.5... this will replace your build.prop with one modded with a few lines of code that will uncap your 3G speeds... all thanks and credit to DHO over at droidhive. Just flash in CWR no need to wipe anything: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/47300967/3Gprop.zip

Worth noting that if anyone wants to dissect it you can find the lines in there (at the bottom, last section) that you can add to a build.prop in any ROM and it should have the same effect ;)

Thanks. Yeah, I'm all good with adb and everything. I guess this is why I usually stick to non-themed ROMs. It just feels cheesy.

I appreciate the modded UI apk. I'll push it tonight when I get home. Have a feeling I'll be back on something else within a few days though. Honestly, there are so many things I don't like aesthetically I may just decide to make a nandroid and flash something else. If not, I'll constantly be trying to tweak the UI to make it more AOSP-like.

Thanks again man, I appreciate it.

Oh... and build.prop editing... haven't done that since my D1! Good times.

I just visited droidHive after DT wouldn't respond to me via twitter and curious to know if he still supports any of the ROMs listed. Especially now that he's got a One X to play with

Patient Zero, CMPLX, and the Kang Station are still very much supported. He got the one x as a new toy to play with, still intends on updating his gnex ROMs plenty.

I've got a bad feeling that DT's new One X is going to derail this train.

I'm not so sure yet... but hey even if he moves on, we happen to have a phone with the most talented dev support ever, lol... I think we'll all be just fine... stay positive :)

I'm trying to, but the sad fact is that one person can only do so much, and none of us like to spend too much time playing with something old when we've got a new toy (meaning, I can't blame the guy at all). I don't think he's going to abandon the GN, but I do think we're going to be waiting a lot longer between updates. I'm getting verklempt.

Lol @ usage of ferklempt ;)

I remember when he was getting the gnex he told us bionic users he'd keep updating our rom... . He never updated it once after getting the gnex haha.

Of course he means well but just like you said it's hard to keep up with it all, especially as a hobby and when he has a new toy to tinker with. At least with this phone if he moves on we have tons of other development going on so we'll be good. He was like 1 of 2 people developing on the bionic so when he left we were screwed haha that's why I grabbed the nex as fast as I could :)

Did you restore any system data? If so that's it.. Never do that.

If not.. Did you tweak and performance / kernel settings?

Pull battery, replace.. Hold both volumes and power til you get to bootloader.. Volume down to recovery and hit power to select .. In recovery wipe / flash again and next time NEVER RESTORE SYSTEM DATA! lol :)
