Ive installed twice and it keeps rebooting. New to this, followed the install video and the actual instal part goes well. Phone boots up fine. I keep getting reboots almost everytime i do something. Download from market, changing settings on phone, accessing Titanium (not even getting to restoring just accessing it). Tried pulling the battery, made no difference.

As I said new to this, Is there something I am missing? Is there something else I should be flashing with it?

Making a third attempt now.

Could you provide a little bit of history on your setup?

What were you running prior to flashing ACE?

Did you wipe everything 3 x before flashing?

I did the 3 times system wipe, cache clear, and the other cache clear under advanced, don't recall the name but followed the video. I was running stock, this is my first attempt at a ROM. The only difference I saw from what I experienced and what was said in the video was that after the ROM was flashed the phone didnt auto reboot, I had to select reboot phone from the Clockwork menu.

Thanks for the help.

EDIT: My third attempt was no better, I went to download from the market and in the middle of downloading 2 apps the phone vibrated once, then about 5 seconds later 2 more vibrates (what its done each time) then it crashed and rebooted.

What color is the text in CW. It should be orange. R U coming from stock ECO5? Be patient we'll get you there... ACE is great! I flashed from EB13 then the EB13 to eco5 zip to get Ace going...

Coming from Stock EC05 but the CW text is green. I am guessing that indicates an earlier version of CW? I am currently playing around seeing if I can get Syndicate to work, already converted to EXT4 (which updated CW to the orange text) , but the first flash of Syndicate failed, it wouldn't boot, just vibrates and it would try again.

Note , as i type this my second flash of Syndicate seems more successful. Will check back if I make another attempt at ACE. Thanks.

This looks like a good tool to see the time the processor spends at each freq. Do you want to start undervolting the higher percentages or the lower percentages?? Right now my settings are -50 from the 1.2 setting I'm using as max, all the way down to 400. Then a bit lower for 200 & 100. But would be nice to get the maximum tweak.. Thanks!

In theory, undervolting the frequencies you use most will have the greatest impact on your battery life. As I've seen someone else mention, you want to be careful with any overclocked frequencies, since they tend to need a bit more power. That being said, make sure you have a good backup in CWM before you start getting too aggressive...just in case.

You just had the wrong version of clockwork installed. Now that you have the orange one...just install the ace .zip to your root of the sd card and follow the steps in the instruction post.

Wrong CWM Mike.... Below is taken straight from the Installation Instructions on the first page... Below the download link
Option #1 - Froyo EC05/EXT4 conversion to run this ROM.

Option #2 - Froyo EB13/EXT4 conversion with EC05 modem (Flash in CWM 3.x.x.x first then flash the ROM)

Hopefully you will give ACE another try.

Thanks again for the help, a quick question. I am running Syndicate now, good so far no issues. If I want to give ace a shot do i just need to Flash the Ace rom? It is already EXT4 and the correct version of CWM. Do I have to Odin back to a stock Froyo before I try ACE or can I just flash the ACE and go from there?

Just boot into CWM, wipe everything 3x and flash ACE and your done.

Does anyone else have a problem with gallery sensor usage?

I remember having this bug a while back with one of the stock roms, but I believe it was fixed in EC05.

the bug is that if you go into the stock gallery app, where you can tilt the phone and and see the thumbnails tilt, the sensor remains in use thereafter. In spare parts, under sensor usage, the gallery app has a huge usage. It keeps sucking down the battery.

Related, I've installed quick pic as a workaround, but does anyone know how to link it to the camera app? In the camera app, there is a little button that jumps straight to the gallery. To workaround the sensor bug, I'd like for this button to launch quick pic, instead of the stock gallery.

I've had the gallery sensor bug in every ROM I have ever used.

Just flashed ACE 2.0 and got everything restored. Looks good so far. Seems smooth and fast, not quite midNIGHT fast maybe, but damn near. Used setcpu to bump it up to 1.2ghz, plenty snappy. Won't know about battery life till tomorrow, but so far I have yet to encounter even the slightest hiccup. Great work as usual Paul. It's more than fast enough for real-world use, and if it proves as stable as 1.7 was (I have no doubt) then this will make a fantastic daily driver. I may or may not play around with another kernel depending on how it runs and what battery life looks like over the next couple days.

The last few days I've been going to sleep with my headphones on listening to music (helps me sleep when Im stressed). On midnight I would use about 20% battery throughout the night. Last night on ACE I went from 40% when I went to bed to completely dead by the time I woke up. That's at least double the battery consumption (since I dont know how many hours it took to die). Doesn't bode well for battery life, but in fairness I haven't calibrated the battery yet and using the stock twilight kernel= no undervolting. We'll see how it does at work this evening after a calibration, but I may have to switch kernels and undervolt. Hopefully I dont have to switch ROMS back because it's running extremely well so far.

I was having battery issuses as well. (Maybe because I liked the ROM so much, I was playing with it more.) So I decided to switch kernels as well to get a manual undervolt. I'm running the Genocide 1.0 kernel now. With undevolting I am getting close to 36 hours before recharging at ~10% as opposed to less than 24 hours before requiring a charge. Might want to give Genocide a try and uv.

I was getting VERY frequent freezes until I switched to Twilight Zone 1.0.4.

I'm still having trouble restoring backups with MyBackup Pro.

Twilight Zone 1.0.4 has been working well for me as well. I also had problems with MyBackupPro and switched to AppMonsterPro instead ; either way though remember to select "from market" instead of "SD card" to help avoid any problems with apps.

I just noticed that it says "ACE Rom 2.0 no journaling" in the About Phone. What's up with that? Is that just a label error, or did I do something that turned off journaling?

Just an error in the build.prop on my part. Journaling is enabled.

reacibrated battery, im over half way thru my shift. left home at 97% its at 80 now. sent a few texts, and forgot to shut off data before i got to work (zero reception in the building). not too bad, i used to drop to about 70 by the end of the day, so battery life is probably about on par with what i was getting on midnight. excellent.

I'll try that (AppMonsterPro), thanks. I've had lots of problems with MyBackup Pro, regardless of the ROM I've been using. I finally got it to restore enough of what I needed, but I'd rather not use it anymore.

It's only been a few hours, but so far ACE 2.0 looks and works terrific. Good job!
