Planning on flashing this tonight.. A few questions though. I am on CWM 3.0.0.5 with ext4, the latest TER ROM, and the Genocide .3a kernel. It *sounds* like I just need to upgrade the CWM and then flash ACE, correct? When I upgrade CWM, will it re-format it again breaking the bluetooth? By Bluetooth works now and I'd kinda like to keep it....
You can try, if it starts giving you FC's then you may have to wipe and flash.Just a quick dumb question.
Can i just flash this on toop of ACE ROM v1.6?
I'm not positive on the bluetooth. I don't use one so I can't test. Thanks Paul, I will do that if I do it. So it will break bluetooth if I do that though, correct?
See post #2, added Sprint/Samsung file with instructions. What about the news and weather widget?
Just curious if anyone else had this problem, since using ace rom if i leave phone idle for an hour or two it shuts off, the only way to get it back on is to pull the battery and then it will reboot, i wiped the phone with odin back to stock eclair, updated to stock, eb13, then converted to ext4 w cwm3.0.0.6, then loaded rom and still am having same problem, guessing its prob something i did due to being new to this, if anyone has any advice it would be appreciated.
BTW I love rom.
Thanks in advance.
I downloaded the ROM but have yet to flash it. I actually was going to incorporate the "No Carrier IQ" into ACE last night but after testing it out I was getting FC's so I decided against it at this time.Paul, what do you think about the syndicate rom and the carrier iq thing?
After running for a few hours, i was browsing the market (reinstalling items) my screen flashed white a few times. After that, i was stuck in a boot loop on the coin screen. I pulled the battery at the beginning of one of the loops. After rebooting, I got the welcome to android screen again and after clearing that a ton of FCs in a row. Tried a CWM repair and clearing data for the apps, but no luck. not sure if something like that is rom or kernel related. I'm in the middle of reverting to EB13, will reinstall the rom and the deodexed kernel.
That is what I would do, wipe and reflash. I've been running almost all the updates I did for at least 24 hours or more on some of them and have had no issues. My kids have played Angry Birds and who knows what else they've done while playing and still its running rock solid. Only thing I can say is I normally run my kernel at the 200-1000 setting for the undervolt using SetCPU. I have heard some people occasionally having trouble running the overclock and having some problems but its not necessarily isolated to the Genocide kernel, I've heard of this in the past on overclock kernels on Eclair 2.1.
If I think of anything else I will let everyone know, but like I said things have ran great for over 24 hrs now and thats why I held up releasing the new version to test things out...
Version v1.7 is up.. Enjoy.
