[ROM]ACS ICS v5 (noCiQ)[EI22]

Keith

dont know if you noticed but that pull down has a horizontal scroll on it...nonetheless, there is indeed no 4G toggle.

Set up a gesture for it or a widget is the only way around it....OR you can swap out the systemUI from 5.0

On the positive side, if you get into the habit of using the data toggle when you are not using data your battery will last you days...

You can't swype gesture it. I have yet to figure a way to swype gesture to a menu setting in the phones menu. Settings/wireless and networks/4g is the only place other than the notifications dropdown that it can be turned off. And you can't swype gesture to that menu.

The first time I installed 5.0, I lost all my programs but that was coming from stock. Since then I've installed 3 different roms always coming back to ACS ICS. Only when coming from stock have I ever had to reload anything. All other times my setup never changed.

I just installed 5.5 (coming from v4.0) without wiping data. It probably would have been okay, but I had a customized version of Swype Beta installed, which seemed to mess things up. Also, I tried to install Launcher Pro when AWD was enabled by default, which caused some serious issues.

After all that, I just ended up doing another clean install with a data wipe of v5.5. I restored what I needed to with Titanium Backup and decided to use the version of Swype that came with the ROM. I ended up installing Launcher Switcher to switch to Launcher Pro. I found AWD is quite slow and didn't have many redeemable features. Everything seems to be running fine now with v5.5. I haven't done a whole lot of testing, but seems good so far.

Just tried a custom rom for the first time. I love the snappiness of the epic bit I'm not crazy for the launcher. So how do I keep ics rom and flash pro launcher? Will pro launcher have the 4g toggle?

Apologies I should have been more clear. ADW has gestures for swype you can make a gesture to a dock icon

try just downloading from the market see if it works. I was able to restore from Titanium, but not from market. in titanium filter for launcher you should see it.

The 4g icon is in the systemui.apk so no, but you can mash up the rom with that from 5.0 and give it a go, or use my suggestion above for a gesture...or even a widget

I am really liking the performance and updates in v5.5. Great work!

The one issue I have though is launcher pro will not work. Not sure if this is specific to me or this new version of the rom. Since its no longer part of the rom, i installed it from the market but it force closes everytime i try to start it. anybody having a similar problem?

I have Launcher Pro running on 5.5. Restored from Titanium backup with no issues. If you have it backed-up maybe you could try restoring it, or uninstall and re-download and see what happens.

Same

Also try running fix permissions in CWM

I put on a new wallpaper but now I decided to go back to the original wallpaper that came with rom. But I can't find it. I just see the adw wallpaper. How do I get it back?

I'm running this on Legendary right now and used to run it on ACS ICS, but I think it breaks the volume rocker mod. Can anyone confirm? It is beautiful and I love the look of it, though.

What's the volume rocker mod?

Been running ACS ICS for about two weeks and recently upgraded to version 5.5. Like the others I wish we had the 4g toggle switch back and I can't understand why it was removed given the drop down menu has so many options now. Only two issues I have with ROM are that I have serious rotation lag when going from landscape to portrait or vice versa. Takes 4 - 5 seconds to flip. Other issue, and one I have seen noted on XDA, is I sometimes hear a very high pitched sound coming from speaker when I cover the microphone. Strangest thing. Still love the ROM and will keep it until I see what the new SRF looks like if/when it comes out.

The rotation lag is a known problem affecting some phones. Most of the EI22 ROMS (at least ACS ICS and Legendary) have a built-in fix for it, but it doesn't seem to be working on certain phones. Mine doesn't have any probs switching orientation (takes 1-2 seconds), but hopefully, there'll be a definite fix in future releases.

I did look at one of QBKing77's videos but that didn't work and the old way through terminal no longer works. Not a big deal given the positives this ROM brings.

I have to chime in here. I have been following this thread here and over at XDA for about two weeks. I have been running version 4 for that time and upgraded to 5 for all of about 10 minutes and reverted back to 4. Version 4 is running perfect and I get 25 to 30 hours of battery with light to medium usage continuously. IDK why after version 4 you would want to improve on it. It runs great is very graphically and aesthetically pleasing. It also seems after V4 many people have had issues. Why was version 5 and forward not started as a new release? So in passing, cudo's too Marcusant my hat is off too you for verion 4. I think this is some of your finest work.I will continue to run V4 until something can top this as I don't have time to test all of these other releases as my phone is a daily driver and everything has to work flawlessly. So Thank's again Marcusant.

I know why you would want to improve it:

Reboot mod, performance tweaks, rotation lag fix, better kernel, vibrate mod, scrolling status bar, modded camera...speed...and coming soon lock screen mod. Its getting back to the feature rich SRF which a lot of us fell in love with but is doing it so much better.

He like every other ROM dev is often waiting for parts to be ported to complete his project. The fans just upgrade as he does,

Im not sure Ive ever seen a single dev with multiple ROMs out based on the same package?
