[ROM][ACS][STOCK] "Swiss Cheese Samsprint" EE03 :: GPS/GTalk voice/video fix! :: 5/16

I had many little bugs that just made me go to ACE rom. The little bit of flashy gingerbread has nothing on the stability and speed of the ACE rom.

I heard a few ppl move from GB to ACE or SFR roms. I just wanted to double-check that ACE is running well on EE03 modem. I was a little confused because, from what I understood, ACE ran on EXT4 and EE03 modem is based on RFS.

Please clarify.
Thanx so much.

The modem has nothing to do with filesystems. EE03 will run fine on ACE. I've even heard of people still running the DK28 modem today on EC05...

installed this yesterday and it was running great, i left my charger plugged in when i went to bed, when i woke it was saying fully charged but when i unplugged the charger the battery went down to around 20% ?? glad i did not have to go out this morning, as i am now an hour into recharging... anyone else get this?

I had this a couple times, where I'd take it off the charger and 10 minutes later it read ridiculously low. I just let it run itself down as normal. It essentially stayed at that wrong reading for an extended amount of time. I even saw on a battery monitor I turned on, that charge level was increasing over time, without being on the charger.

Needless to say, after going through charge/drain cycle a couple times, it seems to have learned the boundaries.

thx, plan on letting it charge to full and will watch.
i wont let the charger stay hooked up passed that, thought it may be because i had the stay awake when plugged in checked... have since unchecked it.
wonder if the charger shuts itself off and does no more charging after full unless its unplugged and then replugged in, but the phone see's the plugged in charger and keeps the screen on even tho its no longer charging.

It cycles. I've reviewed charging graphs and the system will sustain about 97%-100%. Once it's full I've noticed that it goes into like a "trickle charge" type of mode where it's not constantly pushing juice to the battery but will charge in waves.

The unplugging/replugging is called bump charging and arguably beneficial/damaging. I did it few weeks ago because I suspected that I had reset my battery log while it wasn't fully charged. I brought it back up, then reset, and then gave it a few days to figure its **** out. So far so good.

There have been some charge issues with this leak as any other. My flash of EE03 was running perfect from "leak day" until oh Wednesday this week. Then I started having charging issues, the phone waking up frequently during the charge cycle and the charge cycle taking twice as long. Then I started having other issues going on like my battery life tanking and GPS issues all the sudden so I realized it was time for a fresh Odin to EC05/root/flash again. Problems solved.

Unfortunately I think this has to be done every once in a while no matter how well you maintain things, the leaky just gets freaky.. LOL...

I do not mind keeping this leak for a while. I have netflix on my phone. I am going to take a trip outside USA. I will have to go back to SRF because it has better WiFi Signal than EE03 leak.

I need some help. I can not open the Netflix app from the EE03 leak. It says that a new update is available but my epic is not able to get it. Thank you very much in advance.

I have a strange question - I gave this phone to my daughter after I loaded Swiss Cheese. All was good, ran fine. We live in Indianapolis and had some type of issues last weekend with Indianapolis 500 - none of our phones worked (probably too many people on network). She experienced severe battery drain (probably searching for signal) and it died from the battery.
So I was checking this, decided to boot to refresh.

My clockwork recovery is gone, it only boots into the blue Sprint/Samsung recovery mode. 3 finger death grip doesn't work, went through Rom Manager to get to recovery (yes, I know it doesn't work, but I loaded everything from orange recovery). It still has Swiss Cheese running, but looks like I have lost Clockwork? Is this possible.

Do I need to do anything, seems to be running fine. She lives 30 minutes away and can't plug in and manipulate, that would be me driving and messing and don't want to if I don't have to. Hopefully no calls are good???!!!

EE03 was acting up a lot lately on my phone. First, the modem crashed then Netflix app did not work anymore. I went back to stock rom by using Odin, after that I rooted again with the new clockwork and downloaded the the new rom Bonsai v4.1.1, I will go back to EE03 if it gets fixed. I miss Gingerbread, but I have to have a reliable phone.

I am impressed overall with 2.3, I like the small UI changes. I have noticed the following issues:

1. WIFI signal and speed is cut in more than a 1/2. Before 2.3.3 I was pulling approximately 12 Mbps down and 4 Mbps up. After the 2.3.3 update I am getting a weaker WIFI signal with just one or two bars and the wireless N router in the next room and 4 Mbps down and 1-2 Mbps up.

2. Phone antenna signal is decreased.

3. When downloading apps in the market I get a notification frequently that I have lost my connection.

Hopefully these issues get fixed and then we will have a great update. Thanks for the great work in making this ROM available k0nane.

Phone info: Sprint EPIC 4G with a 05/2011 build date.

What happened is that Neftlix put out an update. The phone tries to find the updated file on the Android Market, but because it is not a supported model it can't find the update. If you go to the comments on the xda-dev site for the EE03 Rom you will find a link to the updated app file. I installed the update and everything worked fine again.

I could not find the link that you are talking about. Can you please post that link. Thank very much!!!

Everything was working great, since I got it all up and running 2 days ago. I had a weird crash today, the phone shut off and upon turning it back on, I cannot get the 3g radio to turn on. It just has a circle with a line through it where the 3G symbol was. I tried airplane mode, but it just remains checked and won't turn off. I've rebooted a couple times to no avail.

EDIT - I just re odined the ee03-modem and it seems to be all fixed. Anyone have any clue as to why it happened in the first place?

I've been runnin' EE03 as my daily since it was first leaked, and I can confirm just about every problem people have reported from inconsistent charging behavior, wild swings in battery life (day-to-day and even hour-to-hour), laggy performance, 3G connectivity problems, radio being disabled (permanent "airplane mode"), etc.

Most things I've been able to overcome by rebooting into CWM recovery, wiping the caches, and then rebooting. But some things eventually come back like the laggy performance.

So why would I keep this as a daily driver ... because GB fixed my MS Exchange sync non-functionality that occurred when I upgraded to Froyo. I have no idea Froyo torched my Exchange sync, but I tried everything in 2.2 to fix MS Exchange/Outlook, even Odin'ing back to previous builds/versions, and nothing worked (drove me to almost dump the phone). Once I flashed EE03, however, everything has worked on the MS Exchange sync seemlessly.

So I'm putting up with all kinds of bugs in EE03 because I need Exchange functioning,

Its a leaked build... Strange things will happen.. Obviously the modem crashed and a reflashing did the trick.

I hear ya.. I too had some weird things happen after about 2 weeks straight of perfection all the sudden things went crazy and I did a full Odin and flash of the ROM and all was good again. Leaked builds will do this... Anyhow it does show that GB will have great potential once its official.
