What's included is the best you'll get. There is no source; thus, there is no kernel.

Yes. Get GPS Status from the Market and clear AGPS data. If you still have issues, make sure to clear data as you were supposed to.

If you really wish to use just the modem, you can flash it by itself.

I was hoping to get better reception, while waiting for the official release with ext4, custom Roms, kernels, themes etc... but wasn't sure if flashing the modem would mess up my current setup.

Incorrect. As long as you are on CWM3025 as per instructions, this ROM will automatically convert you to RFS.

That's weird - my GPS doesn't even try and connect - no little animated icon in the notification bar when in Google Maps with GPS on. Cold start and clearing AGPS data didn't help either. Guess I might have to go back to EC05, get a lock and reflash.

Try that, but there are reports on XDA of GPS not working for many. It's a big YMMV; try flashing the EC05 modem.

No, it is not, in any way. The ROM is failing to create the GPS socket in /data/gps, which is 100% unrelated.

Restore a backup of /data from a Nandroid.

How do I check and make sure I have the correct modem loaded. Am I supposed to change it to a zip and flash?

Settings > About Phone

Baseband should end in EE03. To flash the modem, follow the instructions in the FAQ.

You've brought my GPS back from the dead! Good to see that little animated GPS icon again. Now I just need to wait for the weather to improve and to go outside to I can test it

I am on a mac, so, I need a little help. How do I flash the modem.tar file? Also, all the add-ons are in zip form, right? I can just flash those in CWM?

I'm not sure how to install CWM3025, do I follow the same instructions as CWM2.5? I am on EC05 stock unrooted. I have rooted and used ROMs on this device before, I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong this time.
