[ROM Alert] Cyanogen Mod 7 Nightly updates are now available

I flashed cm7 last night via ROM Manager and it was giving me some problems. This morning I booted into recovery did a full wipe ( cache and data) then reflashed, now it's working fine. The only reason I say that is, I'm wondering if you flashed through ROM manger also..?

Try going into bootloader and doing everything manually, that's what I had to do to get it to work.

Thats odd are you installing Google apps? If so are you sure you are using the latest version? I have not had any issues like this I would try re downloading the file and flash again make sure you have the latest Google apps

I flashed manually and it worked! I had to factory reset twice though because the first time after I flashed all I got was the white HTC logo screen and nothing else, but my second try worked.

I'm glad its working how do you like the ROM so far!

Is anybody able to use wireless tether? I've tried both the one from the Market and the one with Cm7, my laptop doesn't recognize either one.

I have a windows XP laptop and had the same problem I had to restart the laptop to get it to work. Also if you have any old partnerships on the laptop from other ROMs make sure you delete those

Ok...So In the past I have only flashed roms using Rom Manager. I went into the bootloader and selected wipe data/factory reset as well as going into the advanced menu and wiping the dalvik cache. I then installed the most recent cm7 nightly build. I'm still having the issue where I never get a 3g connection. It only shows a 1x mobile data connection. Am I doing something wrong or does this sound right?

As of about 6:30th central time today CM7 released an official build. If that's not the one you flashed I would go back and download that and then re flash. I'm downloading now..

i downloaded it through rom manager but when my phone rebooted after doing the steps in the wiki i lost everything and i didn't have the app store. did i do it wrong? i was able to recover my phone back to normal but idk if what i did was correct or not

Yo Brow I think you fooked it up...JK Glad you finally got root I'm so proud of you for not giving up. Here is your issue first yes you will lose everything but you can use Titanium Backup to help reload some of it. Second to get the market and all the google apps back you need to install Gapps you can get them from this link:

Index of /google-apps/

its the one at the top you can flash through ROM manager if you want or you can install through recovery.

I downloaded, wiped, and flashed. Still not getting 3g. I can get a 4G connection when available, but never 3G. Consider me officially confused.

haha yeah thanks to the 1 click root thing i finally got it done earlier today. but so after i download the file from the link do i install it to the root of my sd card? and i don't have titanium backup after the rom has been installed or do i get that after i install that link?

Try this backup your Cyanogen ROM then flash or restore a Sense ROM just for a short time to test 3G make sure you are getting a lock. While you are at it test your GPS I would bet its not working right now ether. When everything is working properly restore your CyanogenROM you backed up. There is something that gets Fubarbed from time to time when you are flashing Cyanogen ROMs it has happened to me. Flashing a sense ROM making sure everything works then restoring has always fixed it for me.

Yes put the file on the root of your SD card. After you install the Cyanogen ROM if you are using ROM Manager you will reset to the today screen. Power off then on holding down the down volume key then go it to recovery chose install Zip then chose Zip then chose the Gapps Zip then yes. Reset when complete. After that just start setting up you will see what happens then once all the setup is done go to the market install Titanium and run your batch to restore your stuff.

oh alright thanks man for all your help. i'll try it a little later tonight when i'm not getting all these text and notification
