Changes:

* New kernel forked from Drew's gingerkernel. Added network stats module (xt_qtaguid) and native keymap for the VM670. I think data usage works now (not that we care).

* Pulled in a bunch of changes from lupohirp. As a result:

OpenGL is working for games. Tested Angry Birds, Cubes Free, Hamster Attack, etc. I did observe on an earlier build that sometimes the GL libraries get cranky and the games hang, so it's probably not perfect yet.
Video works. Specifically YouTube.
Camera is partially functional. It can take pics but the preview window and video are still broken.
Keyboard now renders correctly.
Beginnings of native usb storage. Not functional yet but I think it might work eventually.


* Synced with CM9. Many things are fixed. Most noticeable is probably the numeric battery indicator.

* Fixed up some build definitions and overlay files. As a result:

Lock screen now says Virgin Mobile at the bottom.
Voice mail notification calls the correct number.
Other stuff that I can't recall.


* Added CalendarGoogle, GenieWidget, Talk, and YouTube back from gapps.

* Recoded the VM-specific MMS logic to be less hacky. Not tested yet because I don't have anyone to send me an MMS right now. (awww, poor lonely me).

Also noticed that Pandora works now. Don't know what was broken but I'm not complaining.

On the downside, the ROM has grown again and will probably need to go on another diet soon. The system partition is about 90% full (148m of 164m used). Some of this is caused by the OpenGL libs and the new gapps apk's but there's also some additional bloat in other things. Most notably LatinIME has grown by 1.8mb and there's a new CM9 ringtone named CyanTone that weighs in at 1mb.

A long time ago TDM, you said you grabbed some files to make pandora and youtube work... think you could do that again for AOKP Alpha 8? I want my pandora back!

The update to 4.0.4 seems to have broken several things. I'll need to figure out how to fix them. Feel free to go back to alpha 7, it was in many ways a better build.

Updating to the latest code is a wonderful way to add more bugs.

Let us know if this fixes the issue without creating more, I'd try it out, but I don't get 3g in or around my house.

I'll give this a shot when I return from my trip, if no one else does that is.

if you're using mobile to dl it via opera mobile,it will result in fails,did me twice yesterday. i tried again with skyfire and had success...opera blows

if you are downloading that on your phone, the problem might be that you don't have enough space on the sdcard. Another problem could be if you are on froyo, since I don't think downloading zips works on froyo for some reason.

Pulled this apns-conf.xml file from The Triumph ICS Rom. They have MMS working. And I saw an earlier MMS Fix that used this file so TDM or anyone else can try this out it goes in /system/etc/. apns-conf.xml

applied it moved the old one to SD ill test

Can we possibly tests this though to confirm? Can someone turn EvDO off on their phone, and test it? It should put you on 2g(x1) wireless.

Because it could just be EvDO itself, if we can rule out radio types, we can see if it is the system or if it is the radio.

So...once again I'm back to AOKP. Flashed it, then superuser, then gapps, and now play store works and got titanium backup to restore all my apps. I heart radio works for those that want a working radio app. Still don't have service so can't check 3g yet...but I plan on using it as a daily for a while...can't wait till camera works. Also, what happened to the stock music player? Is it just gone in ICS? Can anyone suggest a simple music app...just something that I can shuffle all songs...similar to tye stock one?
