[ROM] Android Open Kang Project- Jelly Bean Style

Rom Control ==> General UI ==> Check "Enable Volume Panel"

Then use the toggle and you'll see the little settings icon on the right. Tap that.

I got that part. I enabled it when I installed the ROM. The issue is I can't hear the volume while I am adjusting it using the volume toggle. Same for you. Maybe this is MY OCD.

Back to the theme issue...

Has anyone applied themes to AOKP yet? I have read about Cobalt on here a lot. I installed it myself on Sunday and ran it up until a few hours ago.
Does anyone's phone seem to run a little sluggish running these themes? I didn't notice it so much with Cobalt. But, I installed Vicious Blue theme today. The theme would not apply nicely. I had to do several reboots and clearing out of Nova cache and data to get this thing to take. Now, it just seems that everything is a little slower and I am getting a few random app error notifications. This was a main sore spot using these themes on my OG Droid. Seeing as the OG Droid didn't have the memory to run these fluidly, I figured the Nexus would be a night and day experience. While it's not that sluggish, it does seem to add another UI layer to make responses not quite as quick.
It is basically a case of the theme using up extra memory resources and thus slightly reducing the snappiness of the ROM? Anyone else experiencing this?

I guess it would be the equivalent of running Sense, MotoBlur or TouchWiz, now that I think about it.

So anyone have any ideas why I can't seem to change the boot animation (while on any ROM)? If I put my .zip file in /data/local, it still plays the flashed ROM's boot animation, but if I replace the one in /system/media with my .zip, it just plays the "android" boot animation.

Is it maybe because, while moving the .zip via ES File Explorer, I first delete the /system/media bootanimation.zip before pasting the one I want in there? I tried just pasting mine in there without deleting the original (thinking it would just overwrite it), but ES File Explorer gave me a "warning" that the two folders would be merged (rather than the old one just being overwritten), and I figured I probably shouldn't do that, as that would probably make my boot animation all wonky.

I renamed the original file with same name but added org ( for original) to the file name and than copied the new file using ROM toolbox.

After you apply a theme through theme chooser you should reboot.. But normally you shouldn't have to wipe anything. The reboot is because it edits system icons and the SystemUI, helps to reboot and let everything reset properly.

Ill be upgrading tonight as well if a nightly hits. Still on build 3, been slacking lately! Looking forward to some new settings coming from such an early build.

I may just stick with the first nightly until a milestone drops..I say within 2 weeks would be my guess for a milestone.

How are all of you dealing with the google play/ music issues, ya know 10 devices per year or something like that?

I use TiBu to reset my Android ID to the ID prior to flashing the ROM (feature available in the PRO version). That way I keep the same ID even after flashing. I haven't had any issue with the number of devices with Google Music.

Did that get reinstated? I thought it was suspended due to outcry?

This. And I thought that Google had dropped that limitation from google music because of the outburst of annoyed crackflashers?

I'm wondering if this would help to not break google wallet as well...? (Not that it matters to me, I broke mine a long time ago.)
