[ROM] Android Open Kang Project

Franco was having data drop issues, but I believe he solved those a couple of nightlies ago (and certainly before M4).

Hmmmm....let me ponder and do some field testing with ole Oliver.

is there a thread that serves as a user guide of sorts for the various controls/toggles in franco?

PS. running b181 with default settings, and phone definitely feels a bit warmer :(

There's a Franco kernel app thread that probably covers most features if you search those terms.

Re data drop, haven't lost data but GPS took literally five min to lock yesterday and usually takes ten secs.

Ran into an issue I didn't know I had. I'm running B37, default launcher is Nova & Franco's r181. Most of the time when I try to open the browser, I get a blank white screen & nothing loads. Have to go into Apps & force close Browser (doesn't show up in Running Apps list), then the browser will open to the home page.

Everything else seems to be working great. Is there maybe a setting or tweak I've missed?

Franco Kernel updater has been updated to 5.0. New CPU options available... experimental.

Just be aware that once you update, you might have to reset the Maximum frequency for screen off. It's set at 0MHz.

hmm interesting. i think mine was set to 729 before the 5.0 update... maybe thats why my battery was draining even with the screen off.

I always set mine too 729

The 729 max screen off speed is more or less recommended android stock settings. Most of the time setting it one slot lower will cause no issues except for perhaps a second or 2 lag when waking it up. Just something to keep in mind :)

bugmailer update.... no encounters!!! i cant remember who suggested using the gnex without the case, but it definitely worked. now i have to decide if i want to protect the phone and disable bugmailer, or if i go naked :)

Well, I keep dropping mobile data with play music when the screen is off... but not other apps. Play Store for instance, will continue to download apps with the screen off.

I made a nandy, restored an old one (some version of AOKP and Axi0m Morphr), and play music streams with the screen off. Restored my current backup, and back to no music streaming with screen off.

I don't remember what build of AOKP my Morphr backup is of. I'm hoping it's a recent one so I can still use nav bar widgets. Long press back button to toggle weather FTW!

Maybe I'll just dirty flash b38 again, and see if that fixes it. Going to a party Saturday, and I already made a playlist... streaming with the screen off is almost essential this weekend, lol :D

I've been having a weird issue on b38 with the dialer. I was leaving a voicemail for someone when they called me back before I finished, so I swiped to answer their call while still in the call to their voicemail. Well after that, when I called someone or when someone called me I would get a "in call" screen with no caller Id, just "in call" where the Id would be and an option to patch that phone call in with the another "ghost" line since I didn't have anyone on the other line at those times. The only way to fix it was restarting the phone. Its happened twice to me now, the second time was a completely random occurrence. Considering goin back to b37 if it happens again. Really annoying to not be able to see the caller id.

Alright, got myself straight on the music thing. I forgot that I had been playing with the background data restrictions in the system settings. Apparently, I had background data disabled for play music. The whole reason I even went into those settings was to disable it for G+.

Rookie mistake. Sorry guys. I should have checked that first when I realized the behavior was app specific. I just totally forgot that I had even played around with those settings (drunk maybe).

Thanks for all the suggestions though, I appreciate it!
