[ROM][AOSP][4.0.3] Codename Android 1.5.5 [Full Open Source]

I haven't switched yet, but it has restarted itself about four times this week..

You might try either raising the kernel voltages by about 25, or an easier fix is to download the latest codename kernel which has the default voltages already raised. The initial kernel had the set pretty low and some people had issues like you...just depends on the phone. Mine has been fine. Actually, this ROM (this version of it) has run noticeably faster and smoother than any ROM I've run on my phone. Here's a link to the kernel:

[3.0.21] Codename Android Kernel: GNex 1.5.0 [GSM][CDMA]{2-20-2012} - RootzWiki

This ROM is great, the only problem I have is the 180 degree rotation is not working even though I enabled it in the settings. This feature would be useful for me since the headphone jack is on the bottom and is difficult to use in my car when I have it connected to my car stereo system. Sorry if this has been asked, I didn't see it, but any suggestions on how to make it work would be appreciated.

Disabled this version of the ROM.. compatibility issues... should be ironed out for the next version.
:)

Every single day, I'm amazed at how fast, solid and smooth this ROM (v 1.4.0 running the default kernel) is. I'm loving it so much, I haven't even been checking in on the Rootz site for the next update rumors. If I never got another update, I'd be more than satisfied with how it has my GN running.

Nice to hear :)
Same here.. And there hasn't been much going on this week.. the team as a whole has been busy with real life stuff and there isn't a whole lot they are working on this moment. You all can follow the commits here if you did not know: https://github.com/CNA/android_manifest/commits/mod-4.0.3

You can see there has not been much pushed through since 1.4.0's release, just some work done to bring the ROM to other devices mostly.

The next major release, 1.5.0, will be when a new OS is pushed to AOSP, be it 4.0.4 or 4.0.5 or whatever Google decides to push, lol. Until then incremental changes will be the name of the game, i.e. 1.4.x., which will be bug fixes and smaller new feature additions, code changes, etc.

Has anyone updated Chrome to its latest version. Is is working ok with CNA? I'm holding off because I don't want it to screw up.

what radio are you guys using?
I got a link on here for the 4.04 radios but maybe that is the cause of my problems?

Post links if you got them please.

I use the 4.0.4 ones, no issues here I think they connect a bit more solidly than past ones. If you think they are causing your issues you can always try switching back to older ones for a bit. This thread has them all in flashable zips: [RADIOS][Galaxy Nexus] All available radios/basebands - RootzWiki

I am about to upgrade to 1.4, would I be fine with whatever the default radio/kernel used in this ROM? I am seeing mixed reviews with some liking the "as is" and others updating their radios etc....

The ROM doesn't touch your radios, you have to upgrade them on your own if you wish.

Kernel is good, but update to the newer 1.6 version.. Think there's a link to the thread for it earlier in here, can't link you from my phone right now lol.

weird, I found the thread over at wiki with the header as 1.6 kernel but the highest version is 1.5....

I just wanted to drop in and express the features I really like. One is the speed unlock, which unlocks the phone when I enter the pin without having to press "ok". I also like how I can press the power button to shut down the screen to save battery and not have the phone lock until the specified delay I set. Lastly, I like the power widgets in the notifications. These are just some of the little features that make the whole experience of using this OS very enjoyable and these features should be built into every Android device :)

my phone has been freezing up more and more after flashing 1.4. it started every couple of days but now its doing it almost everyday and sometimes more. power button doesnt work and only thing that works is battery pull. anyone else experiencing this?

Update your kernel to 1.6: [3.0.22] Codename Android Kernel: GNex 1.6.0 [GSM][CDMA]{2-25-2012} - RootzWiki

If you still have lockups, raise the voltages under Performance settings. Each one by 25.. wait it out, if any issues still just do 25 more til they're good. :)

Anyone using the 4.0.4 radios with this rom? If so, how is it?

Thanks

4.0.4 radios are the way to go.. I've had them since they leaked, connection is stronger and 4G to 3G handoff is handled better/quicker. Not life-changing, mind you, but noticeably better :)
