sounds like you restored a system setting.. You would either need to switch launchers or wipe and reflash the rom again. Do you like nova launcher? ...it's basically the same as the stock but with more functions.

Yes you should do a full wipe and reflash. Live and learn

The last time I flashed a ROM I restored everything including system data and didn't have any problems. Must have gotten lucky that time. I went into recovery and did a wipe and rebooted and got back to the bare bones 1.4.0 and then did the backup of apps and app data only. I am back up and running without any problems. Just took a little longer to manually set everything up. All is well!

It's a Google issue, not ROM.

The last time I flashed a ROM I restored everything including system data and didn't have any problems. Must have gotten lucky that time. I went into recovery and did a wipe and rebooted and got back to the bare bones 1.4.0 and then did the backup of apps and app data only. I am back up and running without any problems. Just took a little longer to manually set everything up. All is well!

Yes you got lucky before. Bad habit tho.. Remember if you could just restore system data then devs wouldn't ask you to wipe it in the first place, lol

The Google Apps are no longer included in 1.4.0 and need to be flashed separately. It would be helpful to update the flashing instructions in the OP to let everyone know that. (It''s mentioned in the changelog, but not everyone reads through it.)

Yes.. Another thing to note, due to legal issues the Gapps I posted won't be added to the official rom OP.. But we are all still free to use them. That way it keeps the devs' hands clean

2. Rebooted into CWR...did factory reset, wiped cache, wiped dalvik.
3. Flashed ROM
4. Flashed Gapps
5. Rebooted, started fine, restored apps with TiBu, worked fine.
6. Rebooted in CWR, flashed Nova
7. Rebooted, started fine, set Nova as default
8. Restored my screen settings, and Nova "suddenly stopped working"...now I'm stuck.

Any thoughts?

My problem?
Device is slower and from manager says stopped working when trying to boot into recovery.
Thoughts? Nothing new installed since update.

When I flashed nova it installed nova version 13, but I had previously updated it to version 14 when I made my backup. Version 13 didn't like trying to restore a version 14 backup. Updated the launcher to 14 and it restored fine!

Hmmm... Anyone? I'm noob when it comes to installing apps this way.. I know that works sometimes but not always..

If no one can help ill ask around and try to get that working for you later..

EDIT: did you try just installing normally like an apk?

After following your instructions i rebooted and didn't work still. I did a battery pull and when phone booted everything was prefect . Thanks so much for the help. Awesome my phone is perfect now. Thanks again

That's much like the Bedtime Mode on BlackBerry. Actually one of the biggest features I've missed since moving from BlackBerry to Android. I may have to flash this ROM just for that feature.

Running 1.4 now with Franco's latest kernel (17.2) and battery life is awful. Is the kernel that comes baked into CNA available on its own so I can flash it over Franco to see if that's the culprit?

Just wipe dalvik and flash.

Also remember ROM's and kernels always need a couple days or power cycles to settle before battery life is reflected properly
