Look here: http://forum.androidcentral.com/lg-...aosp-2-3-3-cm7-gingerbread-24.html#post915774 for the answer to getting the correct carrier to display. Be sure to thank the op for posting the info and not me. :D Also, would you mind explaining how you were able to get your mms working. Even with gosms mine are still not working. Other than that, I love this rom.

same.
with the stock app and third party apps, i'm able to send MMS but not receive. this is the one thing keeping me from using this rom

any update on the bluetooth issue if there might be an update to fix the issue yet this is one of the best builds in my opinion but have to have the bluetooth for work so cant use it till its fixed

I wish I had some feedback on the Bluetooth. But I never have to use mine. I prefer an earpiece, which, come to think of it, I have yet to try out on this rom... headphones work great though.

Any input on getting mms to work will be greatly appreciated. I tried using an apk from another rom and that wouldn't install. Not sure where to go from here...

errrr, Email.apk does not work for my company policy. I know this is CM7 issue.
I like this Rom very much, but email is essential tool for me. Tried touchdown, worked but do not like the interface. I have to wait on CM7 till the Email issue is resolved. rolling back to Reborn Rom now..

Echo same for Alarm clock issue mentioned above. could be easily fixed by getting new alarm app..

bluetooth works. I am still having trouble with receiving mms on my optimus s, but it seems that people on the HTC EVO have them working on newest version of CM7+/8 nightly...

Still having mms issues (as stated above). Any help is appreciated!

Still unable to receive mms with your apk. Did you do anything beyond the sprint conversion and the apk? Also, did you drop the apk in system/app or did you install it?

I am using the new 2.3.4 aosorom an mms works but I reseve them like 5-10min afer they send It the same wen sending too. Any ideias?

Can you explain how ytou got it working. I'm on the same rom and it doesn't work on my optimus s. Picture mail normally takes longer. Sounds like it's working right for you (depending on network, speed, etc)

Apologize, but after reading this, I'm having trouble understanding the chronological order of events. This is what I've come up with so far:
1. flash ov-sprint.zip
2. delete build.prop
3. replace build.prop
4. use handcent (or other 3rd party app)

Wondering if the issue I'm having is because I'm using GoSMS? Would you mind trying GoSMS to send yourself an mms and let us know what comes of it?

PS- I like that you are awake right now while I am. :p

EDIT: And where did you get the 2.3.4 file? And why did you try this process? Why isn't the 2.3.4 version installed upon flashing?

The reason I replaced the build.prop was cus wen I installed the ov-print.zip it said I has 2.3.3 so I reflash then replaced the build.prop from the 2.3.4 zip.
Ya ill install it an see

Ok so I just installed gosms an the mms from a few post back an I sent a text to myself an reserved it like instantly not sure if that helped winced it to myself but as soon as one of my roommates wake up ill have them send me a text

Sweet. So where you getting these files? The 2.3.4?

Sending it to yourself doesn't speed anything up that I'm aware of. It still goes through the same servers/towers, etc. So maybe GoSMS just works better for you/us? Thanks for trying! I would love to know where you got these files so I can check them out. You get them from the xda-dev site?

U have 2.3.4 installed right so u should have the zip still?

I'm starting to question what I have installed. lol. I have the 20110516 version which claims to be 2.3.4 but shows as 2.3.3 in the 'about phone'... I'll try with the zip that I have and report back.

EDIT: What doesn't make sense is that the Mms.apk included with the rom is for VM, not Sprint so I'm not sure how you have it working on a Sprint phone... Trying now...

EDIT 2: Also, my original question still stands. Why wouldn't the zip have edited the 'about phone' info to reflect the correct version of 2.3.4 without me having to manually switch it?

Ya because as soon as u installed the ov-sprint.zip it did something. that wen I took the build.prop file out of the system folder in the 20110516.zip an put it in the system folder on the phone

I have aosp working on it but switching the build.prop manually did change my version number to reflect 2.3.4 and I'm testing mms now.

He has asked if he should support the optimus s community which I am definitely telling him he needs to do. I miss some of the features particular to our phone like the PRL update option and little things like that.

Question: After doing the steps on replacing the build.prop and having the correct Mms.apk did a 'Messaging' app appear in your menu? I'm getting double notifications and weird things like that. Still no mms though... :(
