Download the newest normal zip and flash
i did, but to be more clear....i would like to leave my lockscreen and notification bar free of any header, whether it be sprint, virgin mobile, bula bula or whatever. From what i was able to pick up on is that editing "ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha=sprint" should do it but I get no change...Still says Virgin Mobile every where....if it can be done, cool. If not, oh well....
You must have read/write permissions, mount the folder and then edit the build.prop for it to stick. Then you must reboot and you will see the change. Yours should reflect Sprint as everyone else's does after flashing my sprint zip file. Makes me believe that you are having another issue if after flashing it doesn't reflect "Sprint"...
yeah I had es set to write...even after it saves my changes, i get no change, Tried rebooting to see if that would make changes set......guess I'll have to start from scratch again and see what happens. Didn't have any issues when the netflix apk came out and I editted build.prop to reflect htc....idk. Thanks!
Question: How am I supposed to download this if the only way to get it is through ROM Manager? I have Xionia Clockwork Mod Recovery installed, but ROM Manager doesn't detect it. Because it won't detect it, it wants me to flash Clockwork Mod Recovery, however there is no official CWM for our phone, therefore it won't be detected, ever. Since I can't flash a CWM that will be detected, I can't download the ROM. What do I do???
There is a link somewhere, though I forget .....either this thread or basketthis' thread .....that's how I got 20110601....
Also, you can manually overide the recovery flash and then pick cwm 3.xxxx and choose optimus one for model, I believe. aosp has a link to instructions for using rommanager on his twitter...... I have thunderc, so rommanger won't work for me....

AOSP 6-1-11 with Xionia Kernel v14 receives MMS

I have a mms receiving AOSP Rom on the Optimus S!
Here is what I did...
I flashed the AOSP 6/1/11 ROM for the Optimus V, then
I flashed the Xionia Kernel v14 for the Optimus V, then
I used pixdrop.com to send a mms to my phone, and
It worked!
Check the Optimus V section of this forum to get the ROM and Kernel downloads.
I am very happy!!!!!

I thought I read someone was able to send mms to their self but it didnt work from other people. make sure thats not the case
Nope. No need. The keys are right for the optimus s automatically. The settings menu shows optimus v as the phone, under "about phone", but you can safely ignore that.
