[rom] AXI0M

Re: |ROM| AXIOM V2.1

Use the Nova Launcher which is the same as the stock ISC launcher and your able to backup your home screens using it. It's not in the market but over at XDA, let me know if you need a link.

mclarryjr, does nova work pretty solid for you? i read on XDA that users are seeing random bugs, even from the last update. I want to find a good solution to backup my home screen before I start installing ROMS. I already use TB so I'm good for my app backups.

Also, I flashed the 4.0.3 radio last night on my stock ROM. I'm assuming it is fine to keep that radio if I install 2.2?

There are very very few bugs with Nova. I've been using it as long as I've had my Gnex and I love it, don't let the few users complaining or the fact that its a beta scare you... many many people are using it and are very happy :)

Give early, give often :)
I threw him $10 a few months ago when I was using his bionic ROMs and $10 more last week for all he's doing with the gnex. Dude puts in a LOT of time on this stuff. But do what you can, if you can donate a buck, donate a buck. Or 2, doesn't matter, devs like to see they are appreciated :)
I like to throw a couple bucks to the themers and kernel devs whose work I use too. If I can spend 2-3 dollars on dumb apps at a time I can afford a couple bucks for the hardworking devs who give us full OS's and don't get paid a nickel.

2defmouze, thanks, I went ahead and installed it earlier and figured I would give it a shot before I install the new ROM.
Also for the MODS, I see on the MOD link that mclarryjr posted that it says supports 1.6-2.2. So I should be able to add any of those MODS afterwards? I guess what I am asking is that when AXIOM is upgraded, so I need to wait until the MODS page is updated before installing them?

Runandhide's mod's on that page work fine. The only thing that it changes is the blue color of your pulldown toggles switches to white, otherwise they work as advertised. I'm using his blue BHRS mod and love it. He also gave me a blue framework mod a few pages back in his thread that makes the lockscreen and couple other icons all ICS blue.. I think its cool :).. will add a screenshot in a sec

Is anyone else running into problems with the kernel loaded with 2.2? I kept getting random freezes and reboots on stock settings for clockspeed and voltages. I switched to imoseyon's stable kernel 1.2.0 in hopes that the problems subside.

I switched to the stable one as well after a random reboot on the exp6... seems fine now, so I'd say you probably made a good decision :)

Ok thanks. hopefully it works well for me as well as it has for you. Actually, I think it was your post in the many posts I went through on rootzwiki earlier that helped me, so thank you.

No problems here with the kernel but I haven't messed around with the clockspeeds yet.

Are most of you running the 4.03 radio? I have 2.2 and the 4.03 radio DL'd but I keep putting it off. Stock has been pretty decent.

Lol what are you waiting for?? I've been on the 4.0.3 radio longer than I can remember ;)

Besides if it doesn't work to your preference its easy as pie to flash the older radios: [RADIOS][Galaxy Nexus] All available radios/basebands - RootzWiki

With the search bar gone, how do you do Google Voice actions?

You can either use Nova launcher to give you the standard google search box back...

or you can just pop a google search widget on any and every homescreen you like....

or, and this is what I have, you can use runandhide's softkey mods to give you a search key, which you then tap and tap the microphone to use voice commands/searches.... http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12333-mod-axi0m-22-softkey-1-mods-55-and-counting/

Is everyone flashing this from 2.1 with just a cache and dalvik wipe, or are you wiping data as well?

Wipe everything.

At the VERY least, wipe cache / dalvik and format /system (it doesn't erase your data)... but seriously you may very well have issues if you don't do a full wipe.

I wiped data too it's always a safer and usually makes the rom run better.

I wiped data on mine, just being cautious. I would rather have to reinstall apps rather than figure out what happened to my phone when it won't work properly.

Wiped data... too many big changes between 2.1 and 2.2.

OK, I'm wiping data. It just SUCKS getting all the apps back as well as setting up home screens and ringtones.

You get used to it.. Takes me like 30 mins to setup everything again but its well worth it.
