This is the same method that I used to initially create my Data2Ext partition. When you flash a new ROM though, you only need to flash the data2ext4-V4.zip and then run the 'data2ext --enable' command in the terminal. You don't have to do all of the interim steps every time.

I do. I've always had to reformat after every flash. But the point is data2ext not working anymore for some of us. I can, fortunately, live without it.

well, if one of ya has it working, that means I can. Never really had a problem with it. been using the same flash file an command line instructions since I was on a htc hero awhile ago. takes a bit to input it all, but it always worked. There was a couple times where it didn't, but I feel it was user error

I started having issues with it on the 1/16 build and lost it completely on the 2/7 build.

That generally means the kernel does not have the required ext modules installed. Check that first using Root Explorer.

There was a kernel update on 1/16. This may have had something to do with our problems.

Look for ext2.ko, ext3.ko and ext4.ko in /system/lib/modules. If they don't exist you will have to load them. There is an arm6 ext zip file which you can flash in recovery attached to one of my posts in some thread on here. It does the lm commands to load the modules. There is also a zip file of the ext tools such as e2fsck.apk, tune2fs.apk, etc. floating around also. If you load the .ko modules, the data2ext should function.

will someone tell me how to reboot my phone into recovery mode please? i have everything on the sd card i just don't know how to do that one thing and i can't find it anywhere

At powered off state, hold vol down and home then press and hold power. Hold all three buttons until recovery comes up.

Power off and unplugged. Then hold down Home, volume down, then hold power buttons till the lg screen goes off.

Or if you can do adb.
adb reboot recovery
Or
adb shell
reboot recovery

But if you are on cm7, hold down the power button till a menu pops up. Choose reboot and pick recovery

Yes, but don't forget to wipe cache before flashing. I personally prefer a clean wipe.

clean wipes are a little safer. If you are having problems, a clean wipe will probably fix your issues.

Hey ive been using your rom for quite while now and i just have 1 question about it. i have some metamorphs that are FOR cm7 but whenever i try to use zipthemer or metamorph nothing happens. it says theyve been applied but whenever i reboot nothing has changed. any way to get around this? i relly want to change out some lockscreens but cant. :'( thanks for the help

Post the files, and i'll have a look. Some may not be compatible depending on what they morph, like older dialer morphs. If you do a zipthemer, it makes a flashable file in recovery.

No problems with data2ext thus far? Many people are having trouble getting it working with builds post 1/10.

okay here's some of them. is there anyway to get the touch screen from spazzing out? i click one icon and it clicks another and when i'm playing fruit ninja it shows a trail of the blade on the opposite side of the screen. i don't know whether its a software issue or not but i heard that some people had it solved when flashing the old thundeROM but only in version 1.5. any ideas? im probably thinking its just a hardware issue with the digitizer and that i might have to get it replaced....

Well i don't know if this is what is causing the problem, but at least in the first file, that's for an HDPI screen. The Optimus S is MDPI. So you'll need to get the MDPI version of that morph.
