[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

I just want to thank the kraven for keeping his project going even though a lot of people have abandoned ship to stock gingerbread. I for one have no plans on (downgrading) lol.

This gpsfix.zip just adds 2 more servers to the gps.conf file. Just flash in custom recovery. Test if you like. It should work for any ROM.

Iho kernel is excellent. 1316 on quadrant! 2016 on antutu! I think drew's xioniaredux is faster but Bob zhomes iho is by far way more stable. I'm running 864 MHz while the highest on xionia I could go without rebooting was 825 MHz.

This method last worked for me in an AOSP rom. It works again with this rom! Thanks DoesitMatter and great job Kraven, this rom is great -coming back from stock GB.

Arg! I installed this ROM specifically hoping that I could get VVM working but no go. I get to the point where it says to send myself a message, which I can then listen to and everything is working. I get all excited until I try sending a voice SMS from my wife's phone and then I get the dreaded "Attention: Unable to play message."

Are the people who report SVV working using it for actual voicemails or are they using the app for voice SMS? I have a suspicion that it might work for voicemails (which I don't use - I use Google Voice for that), but not for voice SMS.

Everything else I saw about this ROM looked great, though! I really miss CM7. No voice SMS is a deal breaker for me though.

Google voice works perfectly fine if set up correctly.

Thanks and agreed -- never had any issues with Google Voice. It just doesn't support voice SMS which I'm gathering is actually a proprietary sprint thing (won't work with other carriers, only works with Sprint's visual voicemail app made by CoreMobility or the feature phone equivalent). Just wondering whether the reports of SVV working include the voice SMS feature.

Here's the way I see it! Sometimes you have to give a little to get a little. Ill take giving up something like vvm to run a far superior rom. I miss it too but it is what it is now.

could you add a download link to bob zhome's v3.1 kernel? i think this one has smartass2 and interactive x installed. could not find a link myself.

I installed over drew's build a few days ago. I formatted boot, system , data, then flashed zip along with gapps. Rebooted, booted back to recovery and did a data restore. Now its force closing alot and its making it immposible to make calls. Any thoughts?

The data restore in recovery might be the problem. You only restore apps via Titanium backup.

Start again with the full wipes and format again. After that try flashing this in recovery. http://files.mysticmidnight.net/zef...s/custom/archive/Debug/Debug-FormatSYSTEM.zip . Then flash the ROM, flash the Google apps. And reboot. Then sign into your google account. Download titanium backup from Market and restore apps if you backed up in the first place.

Kernel IHO 3.1 by BobZhome. Adds smartass2 and interactiveX. I need feedback on this one. IHO-kernelv3.1-sprint.zip

I'm happy with IHO 3a. I was going to make a new nightly with it installed, but I'll hold off and see how the 3.1 kernel acts.

Lets put it bluntly! Its faster and more stable than any xionia kernel I used. And Ive used all of them!

As well as I, matter of fact I had read your opinion about the kernal posted a page back and decided to grab it as soon as I saw it spoken of. As far as the ROM im loving it got it clocked 825/600 ondemand getting 45-50 hours life, no reboots everythings running beautifly, kraven your doing a hell of a job man thanks!

I agree! This rom is excellent and very smooth. The kernel just made this one my favorite to date. I didn't think this phone could get any better. I also think the phone responds better with launcher pro than with adw or adw ex.

Hey Kraven, sorry it took me so long to test out your bluetooth fix. I finally had time last night and this morning and so far nothing has seemed to work. Here is what I have tried,

9/2/11 build with stock (one in the build), drews kernel, and the iho 3.1 kernel - both plantronics voyager pro and jawbone work well

There is no differences between 9/16 and 9/19, tried with wifi off and wifi on...
with 9/2/11 bluetooth files, stock - no phone audio through bluetooth at all
with 9/2/11 bluetooth files with drews - pops and distortion
with 9/2/11 bluetooth files with iho - static but nothing else

As far as the IHO kernel goes, it seems like its on par or a step above drews. I haven't really had much time to see what battery life is but its snappy.
