Are you planning on a barebones version Kraven? I usually prefer to wait and flash barebones :)

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

i noticed that the voicemail wasnt included as well.....i do prefer the stock voicemail better than google voice..(nothing personal).. any way to get that back without going thru a full re-flash ?

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

it's the sprint VM, it has to be installed in system app folder and the correct permissions set. It also should take care of 9016 texts. That's all done in the zip. It has the older market, but should upgrade to the new market automatically.

Ok, so my phone will not let me change the notification ringtone. It will let me change my email ringtone, call ringtone, and assign individual ringtones, but every time i get a text message it plays the wrong ringtone. I go to settings, sound, notification ringtone, i select doink. I exit, i got back to settings, sound, notification ringtone and sure enough, doink is selected. But every time i get a text, it plays the default ringtone (not doink). I have tried restarting my phone, doing a full wipe and reinstall, and downloading a fresh zip and installing that one. Still no luck. Also, my main dock that i have set to display 5 icons keeps on disappearing. I do not know where it goes, but I have to restart the phone to get it to reappear again. It is really annoying to want to make a call and then have to restart my phone because my main dock is gone.

Do you use a 3rd party messaging app?

As for the dock, try sliding your finger across it. I don't use the default dock, I use golauncher and if you slide across the dock icons it moves them. Might be the same effect with adw.

Interesting problem arose from doing a clean install of the latest release. After installing and flashing the old gapps package, along with VVM hotfix and bravia tweaks. Then after booting once, I followed instructions for doing data2ext. Once I signed in to google I opened the market...it froze and I had to do a battery pull to restart it. When trying to install apps from either the market or sd card it fails and says invalid package and will not install.

Anyone ran into this problem before? This is the same procedure I've used for the last few installs, minus the VVM and bravia hotfixes. Is it possible either one of those could have caused the issue? Will try a clean install again tomorrow, just wanted to get other opinions. Thanks!

I do not use a third party messaging app, and running my fingers across ADW main dock does nothing.

In adb there is a gesture that hides the dock, though I forget where it is or what it is. Try swiping straight down top to bottom or straight up bottom to top as I think that is it. Either way, there is a setting in the launchers settings to disable the hide dock function.

OK i see now, it's because when you have to use the sprint voice mail, it uses AOSP 2.3.5 MMS apk. The downside is the compatibility with separate ringtones. you can use the CM7 2.3.7 MMS.apk, but you will get 9016 texts with voicemails. I just suggest using google voice.

As for the adw dockbar disappearing, I think a double tap makes it go away, turn it off in adw settings > UI setting > Hidden dockbar > Dockbar... Uncheck it.

For market issues it's related to data2ext. I don't mess with it , but here's some posts that might help.

Okay, I am confused, i was asking about my text message ringtone. I dont fully understand how that relates to voicemail. I think what i gather is having the sprint voicemail locks up my text ringtones (for some reason) unless i want a 9016 text (please expain what is a 9016 text is and clarify if my understanding is not correct). I tried google voice before and it took too long to retrieve voicemails, has this changed in the last couple of months? Is there any creative way to change my text message rintone, use sprint voicemail, and not get 9016 text? If i decide i want the 9016 text or if i want to use google voice (in order to change ringtones), how do i get rid of aosp 2.3.5apk? Sorry for all the questions, this would not be a big deal if i didnt hate the default ringtone.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

That's the minor bug you get to get Sprint vm to work without the annoying 9016 texts. Every time you get a voicemail, sprint sends a text from 9016 to your phone. I don't use VVm, but i just made it available to those that wanted it.

To just install only the VVM. Flash the rom, regular Gapps, then flash only do the voicemail steps in this post. xda-developers - View Single Post - Need help w/CM7 and voice mail issues... What am I supposed to install? (Sprint)

Alternative way is to delete the the Mms.apk from the gapps with VVM fix.zip. Then flash with signature off.
Edit found a Gapps with just the voicemail.apk. http://dev-host.org/owb5co4f96pj/gapps-20110828-vm.zip

Kraven, what is the exact procedure I need to follow to downgrade from VH to VD.
I wanted to try HydroROM yesterday and upgraded to VH using sfhub's thread.
Finished that successfully but, wanted to come back to CM7 barebones.
So, I installed VD update.zip, rooted it with Gingersnap, installed Xionia recovery.
Then I installed the latest barebones, I don't have any service now. Where did I do wrong?

I'm gonna take an another pass at it and check in the meantime.

EDIT: I should have flashed that update zip twice, darn me!

I looked at going that route before I found thekraven's CM7. Being the CMA freak I am, I found this thread as a bailout in case. I never went to VH or used this, but from what I have found, this is the best way, I may be wrong.

Yeah, thats what I used, except that instead of flashing VD twice, I did only once.
I fixed it now though, I'm back on CM7 Barebones :D
