[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Thanks for all the hard work, Kraven! I'm just poking around in the options of this now, and loving the customizability.

I do like the speed of LauncherPro, though. Its zippy and amazing in the app dock.

The only other thing to flash is the 1/16 bravia zip. Supposed to make viewing pictures and videos better, but I can't tell.

Check to see if your market auto updates to 3.4.4.

Thanks a lot Kraven, I'll check for this items tonight.

Clean install. Had a slight loading problem when signing in. Came up multiple times. I let the phone sit after signing in (I have 2-step verification ON) then it load just fine. So far so good after 45mins of tinkering. :)
Ty TheKraven. Rockin this now fast Optimus S. Sprint screen lol!!!! Been months since Ive seen that. I will Pm if any problems arise.
Seems faster & the touchscreen is now spot on. Did not do the bravia.zip on this run. It seems ok without it. Not sure if that will help it load faster. I can always flash that in later.

I wonder if the handset mic with headphones works on the Republic Wireless version. That would be one indicator that it is a CM7 derivative rather than a stock gingerbread ROM with a few CM7 apps brought over. The baseband version would also be a suggestion as to which CM7 derivative might be in use.

That said, how is the fix that was mentioned on 12/25 as being in development coming along?
"12/25.. currently working on handset mic with headphones fix. Currently working on this as of 12/23. PM for testing details."

It's really the last "big" bug in this ROM without a workaround (besides buying a bluetooth headset).

(an alternative to USB tether is WiFi tether; an alternative to USB mass storage issues are apps that create a network share accessible over WiFi)

Many thanks to everyone contributing to this thread. I have read through many times and have been able to troubleshoot most of my issues.
Wondering if there is a way to block the Sprint boot animation? The cyanogen option to disable boot animation only blocks the Cyanogen boot screen that follows the sprint one.
I also may have an issue with MMS messaging - I'm on Sprint, and so far I have been able to receive a picture message from Sprint, but not one from Verizon.
I am on the 1-16 build with 12-14 Gapps w/ VVM fix. Clean install.

EDIT: Apparently all MMS is broken, not just Sprint. The first message I received was from my girlfriend's phone, which is on the same Sprint account as my phone. That message downloaded fine. Then my sister sent me a message from her Verizon phone and I could not download. That caused me to assume Sprint worked but not Verizon, but apparently only the first message worked, and then MMS stopped working for me.

Sometimes, when I try to swipe away a notification from the status bar, it gets "Stuck", that is, it freezes halfway off the screen. After this, the status bar becomes read-only (I can pull it down, watch as downloads progress, etc) but cannot interact or scroll. However, I can push the status bar up just fine. A reboot solves this problem (temporarily).
Thanks for any help.

I probably will revert that feature. Try notification restart from the market. It should reset without a reboot

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

I never had that problem btw. And I'm on the latest version of this ROM (1/16).

Just noticed it works fine for me. I know in some early test builds it was doing that.

What theme or backdrop setting are you using. And any overclocking?

Try turning on 16 bit dithering in performance options

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

Theme: Sonny Sekhon's MDPI ICS Theme (android market)
by backdrop, I assume you mean status bar background. That is a tinted blue background caused by the theme.
OCing: Yup. Rules are as follows:

Temp>40.0Celcius
480 Max, 245 Min, Priority 100, ondemand governor

Screen Off
245 Max, 245 Min,Priority 95, powersave governor

Charging AC
748 Max, 245 Min, Priority 90, Ondemand governor

Charging USB
729 Max, 245 Min, Priority 80, Ondemand governor

Battery<10%
245 Max, 245 Min, Priority 51, Powersave governor

Battery<35%
480 Max, 245 Min, Priority 46, Ondemand governor

Battery<50%
600 Max, 245 Min, Priority 41, Ondemand Governor

Battery<101%
748 Max, 245 Min, Priority 31, Ondemand Governor

Cm7-integrated Ocing=No.
Just curious, what does 16bit dithering do?

My problems occur when I swipe to the right more slowly. So far have not had them stick when swiping to the left (I generally swipe to the right as I am left-handed, so this could just be me).

not sure if this has been asked but is data2ext broken now in these later builds? on the latest one (1/16 i believe) i go through this procedure http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/118297-how-data2ext-reborn-froyo-2-2-cm7.html and it seems ok.. but anything downloaded in the market say installation unsuccesful. i know older builds from before new years worked fine on my fone with the same procedure. i have done this several times wiping and formatting everything, flashing the debug/format file, used old and new gapps versions. i just give up now i guess. maybe i will try older builds of your rom. i just got a nice class 10 sd card so wanted to try it out again. thanx for everything.

I'm using data2ext on the 1/16 build right now. I don't have any clue why it's not working for you. I generally just have to flash the data2ext .zip file after flashing the ROM followed by running the 'data2ext --enable' command as superuser in the terminal.

I hope that helps ^_^

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

I love your ROM, but I am having a few WiFi issues. Before, the WiFi would turn on fine but then not turn off; I would turn it off from the notification power widget and from the wireless & network settings, but it would immediately turn itself back on. I dirty flashed the ROM and rebooted to no avail; this behavior was still going on. After about a day of this behavior, for no apparent reason (no reboot), the behavior changed: WiFi would stay off while the screen was on, but would turn back on when I unlocked the phone after having locked the screen for any period of time (both the notification power widget and wireless & network settings successfully turned the WiFi off after unlocking the screen). I rebooted the phone and WiFi no longer turns itself on, but it won't connect to my home WiFi network (which my laptop connects fine to and I've never had any problems with), saying that it is out of range when I should have full signal. Is there any reason for this? Should I completely re-flash the ROM, or just do a dirty flash? Thanks!

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

Cool, thanks...I'll try that...Do I flash that kernel in recovery like I flash a ROM (going through with "install zip from sd card")?

Hey thanx for taking the time. Not sure what was holding me up... Went back to your mom Rom and data2ext is working smooth as butter. When I have more time and motivation again I will give it another shot. I do miss cm7. Thanks.

There is a recent commit to CM that should fix the swip2dismiss functionality. I'm sure thekraven will have it pulled in soon. ;)
