[ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 3/9 zvd only

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

2/7: Sometimes when waking the phone, the screen turns on, but it is just black. Then after going back to sleep, the screen displays correctly upon the second wake.

2-7-2012 Offline booting/charging fix 1, boot.img only.

Thanks to jerryscript for getting it worked out. This should fully reboot back into cm7 when plugged in, instead of going into the charging mode. SO check the behavior with the expected results down low.

What are the full steps to updating again?
explain it like im four please :D

also, is there a way to update to zvh from this rom?
i really want cm9...

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

if you want to just check out cm9, you can flash on zvd, but you won't have any calls working or radio. You can nandroid your setup now, wipe data, cache, system then flash CM9. If you like it and dont need texting, then do the zvh upgrade. Involves flashing stock recovery, flashing zvh update zip, provision and prl update zvh, root zvh, flash custom recovery.

CM7 on zvh looks doable now. ;)

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

other than radio, there are no problems with cm9 on zvd?

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

On the 2/7 test build; I seem to have a problem keeping telephony after a second or third reboot. It doesn't matter if it's a dirty flash or a complete wipe and install, I loose service and it doesn't come back. I can dirty flash over the fresh install and still not have service. I've tried with data2ext and without to no avail.
I may have had that. I was playing with an app that can schedule and disables radio as a battery saver. I assumed it was that app, but maybe not. Rebooted twice and no service, so I flashed the recovery I use each month to update my PRL and profile. http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-optimus-s-rooting-roms-hacks/86749-gingerbreaked-stock-vd.html
I then flashed the recovery back to 2/7 test (without the app) and have been fine every since. I did not mention here since I did not think it was this ROM, but possible, I guess, so here is the note, in case it helps.

2/7: Sometimes when waking the phone, the screen turns on, but it is just black. Then after going back to sleep, the screen displays correctly upon the second wake.

I have seen that a couple times, but not consistent, and not repeatable that I have found. Again, I guessed it to be an app I am running, but do not have a suspected culprit.

I have flashed the bootimg and tested all but the two "crash" scenarios, and it works as expected. I just do not get crashes with this ROM, not sure how to test that. And that is a good thing!

I've also just finished testing all but the crashes and I get the expected behavior. By the way, the way Pkt_Lnt, to test the crashes you should just have to OC to an insanely high number. I just haven't had the time to do so yet.

That's how I test as well, I push it up to 864 and then open the Gallery 3D app, crashes it everytime. ;)

Be sure you uncheck the Set On Boot option in the overclock settings!

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

It seems that the most recent .zip of this ROM has the Bobzhome 3.6 kernel, does anyone know where I can download a flashable zip of just this kernel, I found some older versions in the 1st post but not that one.

I love pulling this out from time to time:
Google search: bobzhome flashable kernel 3.7

Click on the second search result, and scroll down to post #4045 by mrg666 ;)

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

Its in the 2-7 build. You could just flash the boot.img zip posted a page back and get the kernel on the 1-16 build.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

Cm 7.1 I don't like it as much even though its stable

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

It's not in that build.

I am looking into that bt mac issue. Looks likes it's the same across every cm7 builds. A generic ":00:00:00:00 .There's a few cm7 builders that offers different bt mac addresses with each build. And i saw some tablets have the driver that reads the bt address.

This might work for or might not, but i'm testing it. xda-developers - View Single Post - [DEV] [Huawei U8160/U8180] Unofficial CyanogenMod 7.2.0-RC0 U8160 Port

And the technical stuff.

How goes that script testing?

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

Kraven, can I consider this build as a stable release or are there things you're working on before you put it up as dated release (along with barebones version). I would like to flash this if there are not many problems and can woat for the barebones version whenever it's ready. Thanks for this ROM :)

I'll put together a barebones with the new booting.

No luck so far with the bt mac address. Since the lg p500 got cm7 official support, things might get fixed. They recently got the baseband read working, but on gsm

If I haven't said it before, I really appreciate that you put in the time and efffort to do a barebones version of this for those of us who like to use our own bells and whistles. Keep it lean it mean!
