I use SwiftKey and it stays on it. I always install it fresh without restoring data from a backup.

Swype beta is sticking too.

Any auto restore with titanium bu going on?
Only other place to try is wiping settings app data in manage applications.

Yes I was restoring w tibu. Just removed it, defrosted std kb, rebooted. Dl SlideIT from mkt and restored data only to test. See what happens.

Successfully installed CM7, but music and nav don't work

Some days after flashing CM7, I noticed can't play any of my WMA files. If I start at the beginning of an album or playlist, the playback app (either Double Twist or stock Music) briefly flashes the titles of all the cuts in order, then displays the message "Playback Error". I say "some days after" because I'm pretty sure I was able to listen to one of the affected tracks, at least once, since I flashed the new ROM. If it makes any difference, it was one of the longest tracks I have, as it includes the entire content of an audio CD having lost the gaps between tracks.

ETA: I also noticed issues with turn-by-turn nav. When just using Google Maps, the device is able to establish my location, and seems to continue to work normally, updating my position in real time as I walk or ride. But if I decide to pick a destination and navigate to it, there are no voice directions regardless of whether I'm using the earbuds or not. I can see that the list of turns is constructed as it should be, at the time I initiate the process. But in addition to the sound not working, neither does the device update my location as my position changes. And it seems stuck on "searching for GPS".

Has anyone else had these problems? These are serious issues for me; navigation and tunes are just about the most important functions from my perspective.

Is there a way to fix it? Is the inability to play WMA files somehow related to the inability of the nav system to verbally tell when to make turns, or to the mic not working when earbuds are in use? That last problem I was already aware of before going in, but I didn't expect these other problems. Is there any fix in the works? And in the community spirit, is there anything we can do as consumers of the otherwise excellent free and open source OS to help out the devs in resolving this?

I had this issue with another ROM and it turned out to be just a bad write from the PC. I deleted the folder and recopied, this time not rushing to disconnect the USB and it worked fine. I'm not sure what coding they were though. You might also try clearing the data for your music player(s) so that it rebuilds. I hope that helps.

try without the data restore, sometimes it needs to generate a new license with each install. Data restores skip that step. Swype beta used to be like that.

Anyone have issues with plus 1 (+1) dialing?

Google voice, voice search, etc, all format US phone numbers as +1-123-123-4567. Whenever I hit dial, Sprint says the number is incorrect. I think the stock ROM strips the + when dialing or just knows how to handle it.

Any ideas?

My battery life seems to be really bad and I want to rule out the ROM. For me, with data and wifi left on, but wifi not connected, and not very much talking or data used the phone seems to be go from fully charged to dead at the end of the day. It seems like it should be better than that...

What are other people getting as far as battery life with this ROM and this phone?

If I don't use my phone, I can end my day at about 85%. If I use it regularly, I can be at 20-30% at the end of the day (phone and texting, about 16hr day)

My reinstall and restore data only from tibu is holding today. Even toggled to the stock keyboard and back a few times. Thanks for the tip, I will just install from market if I get it again. I have been restoring it with my other apps via tibu since I started with your ROM a couple months back, odd that it gets me now.

Seems to be my day. Can anyone with 2/7 test build confirm? Plug in wallcharger & reboot. Goes to battery charge screen. Now boot with long press and hold. Mine loops to battery charge no matter how long I hold. Have to unplug power to boot. Five tests all the same.

To be honest, this happened to me on a previous build when I just flashed the offline charging files...if I plug it in and hit "restart" it doesn't power back on, just goes to the charging screen...but not really a big deal for me I guess lol, I leave my phone on and charging for my alarm to wake me up :)

Others would boot out of charge with a long press of power button. This one will not for me.

I have issues with +1 dialing. Whenever i try to dial a number that includes the +1, it never connects. I have to type it manually without the +1 (10-digit format.) I don't even get a dialtone or anything like that. The call literally does not connect.

EDIT: Well actually this does not happen all the time. I'd say about 1/4 times.

Re: [ROM] CM7.2 Port for Optimus S by thekraven 1/16/2012 zvd onl

I finally found the last fix to offline charging last nite. We had overlooked a simple variable, and this caused our queue-tails to be set at the wrong time. With my latest commit (see at github or in the OV's Build your own rom thread), the following functionality has been established:

Plugged in:
Power off - enter offline charging
Reboot - reboot fully
Reboot from recovery - reboot fully
Crash - reboot fully

Not plugged in:
Power off - powers off
Reboot - reboot fully
Reboot from recovery - reboot fully
Crash - reboot fully

Phone off:
Press power button - boots fully
Plug in charger - offline charging
Long press power button while in offline-charging - boots fully

This is the behaviour we have been attempting for the past month. Now you can charge your phone overnite, and if some random crash reboots it, it will fully reboot so you wont miss alarms or important calls/notifications! Expect this to be added to all IHO variants shortly. ;)

@JerryScript: Looks like some good work you've got on this. Please pardon my silly question, but what is a "queue-tail?"

Well, it's this cute little thing you put on the back of your phone and wiggle in order to get it to boot into a super secret offline-instant-charge mode. :p
queue-tail

Actually, in the startup process, there are queues (British for a line you stand in while waiting), and when you add something to the queue, it is added to the tail, or end. These little piggies must be put in line properly, or things don't startup right. It's just a programming method of creating a list of things to do in a very specific order. ;)

On the 2/7 test build; I seem to have a problem keeping telephony after a second or third reboot. It doesn't matter if it's a dirty flash or a complete wipe and install, I loose service and it doesn't come back. I can dirty flash over the fresh install and still not have service. I've tried with data2ext and without to no avail.
